Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The walls are thin, you can hear everything

Great location, close to the city center. We didn't need transportation to reach the places we wanted to visit. The apartment is comfortable, spacious, and well-ventilated. The staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

Location is great, the room was clean and neat. The only problem we've had was that the air conditioning turened on automatically one night and we couldn't turn it off. We then had to take out the electricity card out of the socket resulting in not charging out phones over the night🫤

Perhaps noise a bit. Room has walls as paper and was able to hear guest next room talking. Elevator door have strong magnet and every time opens no sleeping :) during night.
Good location, wi fi, very clean room. Frendly staff... Good value for money, this is much more than basic hostel. Last day of our stay after check out left luggage in hostel until late evening. That was good thing.

20 Euro Deposit for TV remote. I declined because I had TV service on my phone. This was it.
The location more local neighborhood away from the tourists traps like Las Ramblas or around Passeig de Gràcia where some of the Gaudí buildings are. I mainly ate at local restaurants. Price was reasonable. The elevator lift was something that I haven’t seen since I was living in Italy in the early 1980s. The room photos pictured was actually the room I stayed in. Very spacious and comfortable

3 out of the 4 plugs in the room were not usable due to its location. If you want to charge anything you have to bring an extension cable... Bathroom door doesn't give you any privacy.
The location was great. The room has been cleaned every day. The staff was very friendly.

Affordable price, the rooms were always clean, location was desireable (10 minute walk to Gothic Quarter), had our own shower, felt safe and secure, and the staff were especially great. Special shout out to Miguel who was extremely kind and patient and was so welcoming. He spoke great English, but was willing to help us with our Spanish as well, and made us feel comfortable in a new country!

The water pressure of the shower on the 6th floor is not the greatest Thin walls so prepare some earplugs if you are a light sleeper Bad smell from the drainage from time to time
The hostal is well situated, close to metro stations and just a walk away from Las Ramblas and the Gothic neighborhood Small room, but it has everything you need for a short stay, mainly if you plan on visiting all day and come to the hostal just to sleep The staff is very attentive to your needs, they clean your room every day and change your towels

The building and rooms need 100% renovation. It's a very old building with no soundproof walls between the rooms. You can clearly hear everything between rooms. The elevator is very old and small. The doors are old and very easily broken into. However, all corridors have security cameras which increase safety. Also, the bed was old and inconvenient. The room not super clean but decent.
Excellent location. Right in the center of Barcelona. 10 minutes from La Rambla and next to various metro points. The staff was extremely kind, generous and willing to help us with anything we asked for.

the noise from the dancing venue/ club across the street is as if someone made a party in your room. we stayed over the weekend and it was really loud... on Friday untill 6 am on Saturday untill 3 am... if you need quiet to sleep this is not an option for you
Super friendly and helpfull staff, the room has everything you need. The location is also very good, with public transport and bus to the airport few minutes away.
