Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CroatiaWhile waiting at the reception it was more than obvious that the guests of certain backgrounds received a much more welcoming introduction than myself. When it came to me, the receptionist suddenly went from smiling to being very reserved and cold. The room is decent but very small even for a single guest. This is because it is positioned under the staircase leading to the upper floor. The towel from the previous guest remained hanging behind the door and the bathroom drainage couldn't absorb all the water while showering. Leading to water on the entire floor of the bathroom, including behind the toilet, slowly going back to the main shower syphon where one stands. Nonetheless, I would still suggest trying it out if staying in Tallinn, hopefully, the staff will resolve these minor issues before you arrive!
Perfect location, a clean bed, and overall a lovely old-fashioned hotel.

FinlandI dont know if there were a misunderstanding, but i had askwd before could i have an early check in, and i was prepared to pay extra. But the woman in the front desk told me very simple no. And then i asked about keeping my luggage somewhere, she didnt bother to help me that much, but it was ok. I found the closet...didnt feel that secure 😂 but there was a person sitting in the front desk all the time It could have been the language barrier or something.
The location was super!!! Close to everything but the street it self was quiet. (Lots of tourists in Tallin) The hotel was also clean!!!! Especially the bathroom in my room. The room in sixth floor was perfect for me. It was so quiet. From 4th floor on the stairs are super deep 😂

FinlandShower had some dirt or mold in the corners. Staff was polite but a bit short with the words. Maybe it would be nice if only part of the court yard was for smokers as the smell came in from the window.
Room was small but it provided me all I needed: a comfortable bed, bathroom and a cool fridge to get my water bottles cool. Location couldn't be better than this. It is just next door to my favourite cafeteria in Tallinn and just a stone throw away from anything the old town has to offer. For this price breakfast was very good. Bread, eggs,, fresh vegetables and fruits and some warm dishes as well were my personal favourites.

GreeceI understand and knew from the description that it's a medieval building but the walls are non sound proof. It is a problem if someone is allocated a room next to rude people.
Unbeatable location in the heart of the Old Town. Decent breakfast. Very polite and willing staff; when I asked the receptionist of the 17th May night shift, to help me with a group of extremely noisy (during the common hours) and rude people in the next room, he solved the problem immediately.

United StatesThe walls are very thin and you can hear very clearly peoples' conversations in the adjoining room. The staff are sometimes helpful but sometimes they don't seem to care too much. I experienced a sense of indifference and a lack of helpfulness when I was trying to figure out transportation to the airport around 4 am.
I like how it's located in the old city. It's about a 4 minute walk from the Viru gate from where you can take a taxi to the airport.

Czech RepublicThe rooms had very thin walls and you could hear literally everything the people were saying in the adjacent rooms. Room did not have enough sockets for charging my devices overnight.
Location was excellent, right in the middle of the historic center. That was probably the major advantage.

FinlandThe rooms are small and you can hear everything from other rooms. We had to hear alarms from other rooms’ locks several times. Remember to bring ear plugs. There is very little space for luggage and no wardrobes. There was no staff to be seen after 10 pm.
