How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

We stayed in the apartment for 4 people: 2 rooms, one double bed, 2 singles. In the room with double bed there are no windows (which is not a problem for us), but the bed is the only furniture in that room. No bed-side table, no place to put your things, no table or floor lamp. In the livingroom (where there are also 2 single beds) there is only one plug. There are only 3 chairs and kitchenware is also only for 3. So if you stay with 4 people as we did you'll be always missing something and one person will have to stand or sit on the bed. You will also fight who gets to charge their phone first :).
The place is quiet, near to the train station, about 15 min from the center. Beds are very comfortable. Overall good considering the price.

Very bad quality of door touchreader for opening the door.evrey time have to type the code 7 times then it crashes, then wait 2 minutes and maybe after that you manage to open the door to your apartment

Shower drain wasn't working very well and due to shower design I had to shower very carefully to not flood everything. Beds could have had some type of light fixture next to them, because otherwise one has to stumble in darkness to bed after switching off lights.
Very clean, fresh and modern looking apartment. Very good price and location. Would also be suitable for longer stay as it had fully functional kitchen with kettle and stovetop. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

There was a bit of a smell in the bathroom, and a little nightlight or small lamp would help in the night because of the steps in the room.
There is a lot of space, everything necessary for a short stay. Location is very good, great value for Tartu city.

I booked a room without windows and it was my mistake, it was very hot. I didn’t like the fact that the floor was formidable.
Very good location, city center. All major attractions are nearby. good beds. free parking. good kitchen with utensils. There are clean towels in the bathroom. TV. Internet.

Nothing was drastically bad. But things to take into account: When you have an apartment with windows facing the street you can hear the traffic. I am a light sleeper and because of that I did not sleep too well. There are not enough parking spaces and if you manage to park in the inner parking lot, you will have some trouble getting out there. You will be given isntructions to nearby parking lot by host though. It is in walkin distance. We managed to park on the street next to apartment, because it was free on Saturday evening/Sunday. Pet fee is 10€, which we were asked to transfer to private individual’s bank account (not legal) but we asked for proper invoice and they sent it to us. Be aware that you will be asked for pet fee after you have paid for booking, I was not familiar with such practice. But maybe this is how it is done in all properties.
Comfortable beds, fresh and modern design. Clean rooms, good location. Easy to check-in and out. Pet friendly place.

There was no trash bin nor hooks in the bathroom to put towels to dry.
It was very close to the city center and easy to check in. Good value for that price.
