Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustriaYou need to make your own bed & pay extra charge for the linen. The breakfast could have more variety, but the marvelous setting in a family dining room was still worth the experience! :)
Absolutely magical place with a heart & soul! A 100 years old house living & breathing the history of the family! Idyllic peaceful environment in the middle of the fields, beautiful rooms, very helpful hosts! Can not recommend this place enough!!!

AustriaWhen you are aware (like me) that there is no stove/oven available on the premises, and that bedding/towels are at a surcharge of €10, and you have to make the bed yourself than there is really nothing to complain about.
Beautiful house/room and location. €10 breakfast option well worth it, with enough food to make a lunch for your day trip. Plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy your food outside on a sunny day. Tranquil place - haven’t slept this good for ages!

BelgiumBreakfast and sheets/towels are to be ordered separately - especially for the sheets/towels, I didn't expect that. However, I got this info before I arrived, so I could still request this in time.
Quiet location but near Møns Klint. A lot of info regarding sightseeing and tips for the Dark Sky.Very nice breakfast basket, sufficient to make sandwich for lunch, especially liked that the fridge had freezer so we could freeze the cooling element and keep the lunch cool and fresh!! Easy parking!

NetherlandsThe rooms can get quite warm, since there are nice big windows (triple glass) that provide a nice view. Also, the bathroom was a bit small and outdated (the shower mostly). You had to pay for bed linen and the use of towels, it's not a big deal, but ~ 10euro per person, the price was steep....
Beautiful location close to the Mon's Klint. The rooms are very spacious with a seating area. There are also locations where you can sit with a sleeping bag and mattres (provided by the hotel) to view the dark sky.

DenmarkIt could have been nice to have a private bathroom, or at least a toilet separate from the shower. Otherwise we had to wait sometimes for a while to be able to go to the toilet. The isolation of the bedroom is not so good. We could here the doors opening and closing and people talking in the corridors.
We really loved the location, out of a village. It is a very nice place, in the middle of nature, very enjoyable in the summer time. It was nice to have the opportunity to get food no matter at what time you get there.

AustriaEverything was great for us with the exception of that a big insect entered our room at one point and didn't want to leave again. That can happen anywhere though.
It's quiet. The kitchen has everything you need if needed, fridge and microwave to use too. Check-in was self service and easy. The bed was good. Breakfast was also good. It's a great place to relax and get off the grid. When your traveling by car it's also relatively central and easy to explore the island (møns klint etc.)

AustriaKnowing this as standard of hostels, we were surprised we were asked to remove bed linen before departure by ourselves. We never experienced this in a high quality accomodation so far.
A perfect place for nature lovers. Nestled in beautiful farmland, the area attached to the B&B is huge, and offers many hidden spots with tables and deck chairs. We got a beautifully decorated room in the old main building and enjoyed very much style and comfort. Breakfast was delicious and remarkable was the selection of different types of (handmade ?) bread. Very nice owner, good info material provided, excellent Wifi quality. As we were on a round-trip, we regret that we could not extend our stay.

FranceA really nice place but the service is disappointing compared to the price. Having to pay for the bed linen, considering that the location is already expensive, seems a bit harsh. Some price information listed in the rooms was not correct, one of the two showers didn't work well. Everything is thought so you spend a lot of money, and the quality of the service doesn't match the "fancy" style the B&B wants to have.

DenmarkCheck in you will have to do on your own without any staff available. However, the entrance is guarded by safety cameras and people monitoring you from the main building leaving you feeling unwelcome and monitored. I am not sure if monitoring guests with cameras is even illegal at all. Despite staying in a "family room", the owner ran to us in a confrontative and paranoid manner to let us know that we were not welcome with people below 18. This age discrimination, I know for a fact isn't legal. The place in general looks old, service cannot be complained about (because there is none!), and rules, ristrictions, and additional fees are stated everywhere on small little notes. All in all, less service than a hostel. We ended up paying above 2000 kr for one night. We stayed multiple other places in the area which were all wonderful. However, this place felt creepy, unwelcome, and discriminating. We all wished we had avoided this experience.
We felt very unwelcome and did not enjoy the stay at all. A complete waste of (quite a lot of) money.

DenmarkThe owner wasn’t of much help. There were no signs of any place to eat lunch and we even got chased off the property for being early. So we ended up missing 2 hours of the sight seeing because we weren’t allowed to eat lunch there and leave our car at the parking lot.
It was a lovely building in a nice surrounding.
