How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

- shower was horrible. It kept changing temperature constantly. - shower box very small with no shelves to hang shower utensils
- spacious room - kitchen facilities were great incl. a dishwasher - well ventilated room - plenty of natural light - close to Frankfurter Tor station - Nice area with plenty of shops and eatery - Good value for money - shower soap provided (body, hand and hair - 3 in 1 - LOL)

Unfortunately, the shower water temperature was unpredictable. Sometimes it was very, very hot, then freezing cold:(
The apartment is very nice, very well located (near to the metro stop, so everything is easily accessible) and easy to check in. The street and the neighborhood are full of good restaurants. There were some free drinks and coffee capsules when we arrived.

Our room was on the ground floor and our windows led to a courtyard where children would play right up to our window, so we had to to keep the blinds closed pretty much the while time.
The apartment is very nice, very well located and easy to check into. There were some free drinks when we arrived as well and the place was way bigger than what we thought it was going to be. We did have a bunk bed which was interesting, but it did the job!

No cleaning service. I was there for 6 days and my room didn’t get cleaned once and I didn’t get net towels either. You can book cleaning service but that costs 50€ which I believe is overpriced.

the wifi worked disastrously, additionally in our apartment the network was bad so that mobile data didn't work any better either… in addition, the extra bed was terribly uncomfortable, I advise you to add another mattress on top of it

The apartment needs soundproofing. We were on the ground floor and there were 2 doors that were automatically closing with a loud bang that we could hear from inside our apartment and waking us up in the middle of the night. Wifi was also useless. Barely any signal and not much phone signal either.
The apartment is very new, nicely furnished and in an excellent location close to bars, restaurants and public transport. Apartment Was well equipped with everything including a coffee machine. Beds were comfortable

The shower's water temperature is a joke, of bad taste. It keeps swinging from freezing cold to burning hot, it's just awful. I complained the first day by texting the host, no reaction.
New, clean and well-maintained.

Maybe some sounds from corridor, but it was minor and depends from Your studio doors location, is it in the front of corridor or in the back. Overall apartment is quiet and sound insulation pretty good.
Good location to travel around Berlin, U5 subway line is nearby. A lot of restaurants and shops around apartment. Pretty cozy, spacious, comfortable and the price was good also.

Water temperature of shower changed constantly.
Exceptionally located in vibrant Friedrichshain. Enough room for 2 adults and 2 teens. Well equipped kitchen. We had 2 complains when we arrived: TV cable was missing and 1 bed linen was not clean. Both items were renewed then during our stay. Communication through Booking chat was easy and worked well.

We couldn't smoke in the room, maybe it would be nice if there was a dedicated space for that?
I liked the easiness of the check in, the room had everything we needed (even olive oil for cooking!) and the location.

A better door: when people walked in the corridor, it felt very noisy, whereas the apartment itself was very quiet (well-isolated walls, windows on a quiet courtyard).
Well equipped studio, very quiet, in an enjoyable neighborhood with plenty of café's, restaurants and a supermarket close by. Very good matrasses (both for the mezzanine bed and the sofa bed).

The first room that was assigned to us smelled heavily of cigarettes. The staff was very understanding and helpful so we were able to swap our room immediately.
Excellent place, very clean and decorated with a lot of taste.
