The staff is very friendly! Our guide Arturo was great! He showed us a lot during the canoe tour and the night walk. The location is nice, close to the beach at the end of town.

A simple but nice place in Tortuguero. The center is just 5min away and the beach really close. The owner was really kind and welcomed us warmly. She did with us the Turtletour which was amazing!

I had a wonderful time at Green Macaw! The room was comfortable and everything was very clean. Eddil is such a friendly host and helps whereever she can. I really enjoyed cooking tortillas together with her! Her brother Arturo is also a great tour-guide for example a night walk! I can totally recommend this place and because of them I enjoyed my stay at the tortuguero a lot ☺️

At the time of writing, construction was underway. So when you got back after a tour, there was a lot of noice. When it is finished it should look even better

Good budget option if you plan to be out and about for most of your stay. Clean and tidy. Friendly, local host family. No A/C; only fans. No mosquito nets but wasn’t an issue.

A mirror in the bedrooms would be really handy and some more pegs or areas to hang wet clothes.

The location is minutes from the beach, you can hear the ocean! It’s a small hostel so it’s more relaxing and peaceful. It’s very clean. The kitchen is small but fine for preparing meals. The owner Eddil is really friendly and helpful.

The very nice owner picked me up on arrival at the port and accompanied me to the accommodation. She helped me find my way around the offer of trips, because she offers them herself. The equipment corresponds to the standard of the hostel. Smaller room equipped only with bed, shared shower and toilet. There is a small equipped kitchen with a refrigerator. Coffee, tea and bananas available. Breakfast is possible on request. Very nice and nice place.

As Tortuguero is basically always humid, the hostel could use even more hooks or lines to dry clothes.

I very much enjoyed my stay at this hostel - the place is always clean, the beds are comfy, WiFi is good, and the staff is wonderful. Eddil is a great person, very friendly and attentive to any need you might have. I'm so glad I got to meet her and share life stories and laughs with her, as well as her brother Arturo who is a tour guide - I would recommend the tours without hesitation. Arturo is very good at wildlife spotting, funny and really accommodates the tours to the people!

We stayed there 2 days with our 3 kid / teenagers The bedrooms are clean but very « spartiat » : 1 bed, 1 small bed table and 1 small fan. That’s all :) The owner Edil is very nice. We took the breakfast ($5 per person) which was great.

There are no hangers anywhere. not in the bedroom nor in the bathroom. It would be nice to be able to hang clothes and towels.

The host is very nice, helpful and friendly! She even offered us some coffee and some platano one afternoon while we were chilling. The place is very clean, in a very nice position, the town is very very small.

It's very very basic but you pay for what you get.

This is a basic hostel. We had our room which contained a bed a small table and a fan. There were two hooks on the wall. We shared a bathroom with the room next door. There were kitchen facilities but we did not use them. Tortuguero is very hot and sticky and we found it hard work. But we couldn't really afford the next step up to finding somewhere with Aircon. Bring enough clothes as nothing dries if you try to wash it.

It was a really pleasant stay at Green Macaw. The stuff is so friendly and tried everything to make it comfortable for us!

The room was disappointing. the bedrooms were really small, no window (only net) and no air circulation. we had a fan for each room but it was still really hot at night. No hot water in the shower and overall unpleasant room. The walls were very dirty.

The staff is really nice. We took the Turtle Nesting tour with them and it was amazing!

We had a great time in the Green Macaw. It’s has clean rooms and a nice open area with hammocks. I can highly recommend taking the guided tours with Edil and Arturo who are very knowledgeable about the sea turtles and the jungle.
