Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

ChinaThe first 2 nights they put me in a room with no windows. Only the bathroom had a window. Then after requesting a change, they moved me to a nicer room with good lighting and a nice balcony.

It was in a fantastic location, there was a fruit shop around the corner, shopping centre close by but then also a park down the road... something for everyone. I was given a bigger room than originally booked, with an attached shower that was really hot and the bed was comfy. It was easy to find, and exactly what I was looking for before flying back home.

SwedenThe cat was kept in a very small cage. Doesn't seem very animal friendly. We booked rooms with window and one of them just had the window in the bathroom. We asked and after one night could get another room.
Entrance was nice with a lot of plants and flowers. Receptionist was nice and helpful. Cat was cute.

This is not like a traditional business hotel, but more like a homestay. The service staff are very enthusiastic and friendly, providing you with a lot of extra help and information about the city. The cleaning is very clean, and the balcony and steps at the hotel entrance are excellent. Although this hotel is small, I really like it here, especially the room with a balcony

ChinaI want to continue living the next day, but the room is full
Great location, next to shopping malls, bars, restaurants, very convenient to go anywhere in the center of Shanghai. The room is not too big but very clean. The balcony room is very nice with private outdoor space. I will book that next time. The service was amazing, the waiter recommended the nearby bars and barbecue places, and also helped me take a taxi to the Bund, everything was perfect.

AustriaStaff was rude and the lack of common sense is shocking. I asked for toilet paper and got a rude comment from the receptionist. She herself might be new too as she doesn’t seem to be familiar with the processes during the check in. The facility was old and it wasn’t really clean. I wouldn’t say it’s convenient to stay in. Price was pretty much the average for that area for hotels like this, next time I’d rather book the one next to them or spend a bit more and get a proper service with people that are a bit smarter
