Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandThe courtyard is really nice but I didn't want to spend time there as a non-smoker. One time I smelt cigarette smoke in my room. I believed this was coming from the bathroom. The solution was to keep bathroom ventilator on while using the room and the bathroom door closed- problem solved. Don't expect any English language channels on the TV.
I almost canceled my stay due to other reviews saying how difficult it was to find, I'm glad I didn't because this was a very convenient location for me and so easy to find. I used the train/subway from the airport, I changed lines and got off at Beijing Railway Station. Use Exit C. Turn right from Beijing Railway Station and walk along the main road, turn right at the corner after walking pass a bus depot. (The corner has a tall building called China Grain Hotel) walk to the end of that road, you'll come to a police station, turn right and you'll be able to see the hotel. The hotel staff were able to accommodate an early check in- thank you very much. They had a laundry with 2 washing machines, 2 dryers and detergent, free to use. The restaurant had a great buffet breakfast and the menu also had vegetarian options. The buffet was 28 yuan if I remember correctly. Housekeeping staff did a great job in my room but the shower curtain needs to be replaced. There are two small shops in the street you can buy snacks, drinks, beer, ice cream from.

FranceNothing that I didn't appreciate. I was not on the side of the train station, so I wasn't bothered by any kind of noise.
All great ! Clean and comfortable. Kind staff.

SwedenGot a clean and spacious room with a good bed. The staff is kind, helpful and serviceminded. Breakfast was fantastic, had both asian and european options. The Hutongs around the hotel consist of friendly locals and the area is safe. The easiest way to find the hotel is to walk to the END of the busparking as the map shows, then turn right and walk straight to the police office and you will see the hotel on the right side behind motel 8. This way you avoid the more difficult way with a few turns through the Hutong.

BelgiumDifficult to find for the first time. The staff at the restaurant were unfriendly. Noise from the railroad you hear the train 😭 Weak wifi so don’t rely on it. I used eSIM card I bought before flying to Beijing, it gives me access to my social media and google maps.
Location is less than ten minutes walk from Beijing railway station. If you’re taking the bus from the airport you must cross the road. The hotel is right next to a police station. If you type on Google or Maps.me police in Beijing railway station Zhong An Hotel is next to motel 8. It’s hard to find for the first time even using the map because it’s hidden behind the alley. Super small room good for one people only, no space for big suitcase. And the way to the rooms are stairs so if your room on the higher floor too bad as you have to drag you heavy luggage all the way up through staircases. The rooms were cleaned daily and placed up new bottle water. Staff were friendly but very limited English they trying their best to help you but take so long because they need to translate. Anyways, I have a great 5 nights stay at Zhong An Hotel.

United KingdomI had a comfortable big room, with lots of space. The whole hotel is nice and clean with a nice garden space. The staff was friendly and very helpful. They speak English and when they couldn’t explain something used translator apps, but made sure that I could understand everything. Very helpful. I had a great experience with them.
