Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesWifi signal is not strong, especially when lots of guests are using it. It is good in the very late night or very early morning. Parking on the street is very tricky, please read the parking signs on the street very carefully (multiple parking signs on the same street of the hotel) .
Breakfast is good, location is excellent, everything in old Quebec City are in walking distance. The owner of the hotel is very nice and very helpful.

CanadaIt's an old house, so the decor is a bit dated and insonorisation is not the best. But I spent 3 relaxing nights there anyway.
This small hotel is very well located. I could walk everywhere I wanted to visit. The host was friendly and very attentive. I loved waking up with the smell of coffee brewing and the breakfast was filling. My bedroom was comfortable and had everything I needed (hairdryer, kettle, tv, comfortable chair, etc.). Everything was clean.

CanadaThe WiFi was not working. It kept connecting with no Internet, so I could not use it and, since I was roaming, this was a problem. When I told the owner, he said it has not been working since the summer..
The owner of the property is very nice. He checked me in in advance with no problem and told me about the hour change the night I was departing. The room was cleaned every morning. The room was big and the bed comfortable. Very central location!

United KingdomInternet wasn't working for all my entire stay. Don't expect a buffet breakfast in the morning. Just the essential. The croissant arrived always late but still hot!!
Very central location in the old city. 15 mins walking from the train station (spoiler alert... it's uphill!!!). The owner was a very nice person.

CanadaThis place might not be the right fit for everyone, but we liked it! We were on the 2nd floor(no lift, only stairs take you up) the room was very neat and had all essentials - a wash basin which helped due to the shared bathroom, a mini fridge, robes, linen and towels and a tv with local channels. The location is excellent, this is the biggest reason we loved the place. Close to Old Town and a walk from everything you will want to see. The breakfast was decent and a good start to the morning - fresh coffee, croissants, muffins, fruit and yoghurt. It is served on the first floor and needs to be taken up to your room to eat. I loved waking up to the smell of coffee brewing. The owner of the B&B is courteous and helped us with parking, directions and checking in comfortably. The shared bathroom was shared among two rooms on our floor. It was clean and we did not have a lot of problem using it if planned well. All in all I would recommend this place if you are using it as a stay for a night or two, just to sleep while exploring lovely Quebec City.

United StatesIt wasn’t a completely enclosed bathroom (open at the top that I’ve seen before in self remodels) so the room would get stuffy when people showered. The building along with furnishings is old.
We were able to park our car on the street the entire trip and walked everywhere. The breakfast was right outside our door. The room was large with a small dining table and the window air conditioner worked very well. The owner was nice in his own way. His personality is a little abrasive, but he was accommodating and worked hard.

FranceNo elevator and stair is a bit narrow.
Excellent location to visit the old town. Despite an old style decoration, the room is comfortable. The shared bathroom was clean and seemed new (we also had a sink in the room). I liked the breakfast with fruits, yogurt and croissants. We had to take it in the room but we were lucky enough to enjoy it on the balcony.

CanadaThe fact that I wasn't told or it didn't say that I had to pay $30 for parking and that you can only use one ticket per night on the third night after I left my car there for two nights I had to pay for parking again if I wanted to get my car. The owner of the hotel give me some money back but never explain to me that I had a to use a ticket per night. We thereafter my wife and I had to sleep in the car has I had forgotten the keys inside the room that was my fault but after ringing the bell for more then an hour nobody open the door therefore we slept in the car. what a nightmare.

United StatesLet's face it. This is not the Ritz. The decor, while comfortable, is somewhat old and dated. The wall separating the bathroom from the rest of the room did not go all the way up to the ceiling. So if you're squeamish about privacy . . .
The room was roomy and the 2 beds and pillows very comfortable. It also had a couch, a refrigerator, table and chairs, and a full wall of windows with shutters, and an outside balcony with chairs. The bathroom was fine. The location, inside the walls of the Old City just off of the Rue St. Louis, was excellent with only a ten-minute walk to Dufferin Terrace with many shops and restaurants along the way, and near to the many historical sites and views. Public parking was conveniently close by near the end of the Parc Esplanade. The breakfast was the standard croissants, muffins, yogurt, fruit, coffee (taken to your room). The concierge was quiet but polite and helpful.

SpainThe only thing is the WiFi. It really doesn't work in the rooms and I had an issue with a cancelled train which required WiFi so I had to sit at the bottom of the stairs. It would really help if the owner either didn't advertise WiFi as a service or purchased a booster for the signal so it's efficient all over the building. I would definitely recommend this hotel for value and location with only that one issue.
Amazing location, excellent breakfast which kept me going into the afternoon. The room was cleaned every day. The owner was kind and helpful. He's not an effusive person but that shouldn't be mistaken for rudeness. I thought he had a lot to contend with but the rooms were made up every day and breakfast is available from early.
