For some reason we stayed in one of the "suites", meaning the rooms next to the reception in the main building, as opposed to the lovely chalets, little houses that were the main reason why I booked there. We were exhausted and fighting travellers' sickness when we arrived, so didn't ask to move or anything, but it was a bit frustrating.

I loved the fact that we were almost in the jungle. Breakfast really tasty and we could eat on the balcony, it was lovely. Nothing better than having papayas, doce de leite, eggs, goiabado jam for breakfast!

The only thing to say negative is that as it rained a lot during one evening, in one of our rooms, the ceiling started to drip during the really heavy rain.

Super lovely stay at the hotel. Lovely pool area and also play area. I guess the best surprise was the breakfast - excellent should I say. Enjoyed the stay a lot. the staff also spoke english, which in fact, is not so common everywhere. Other than that - the stay was excellent and we enjoyed a lot.

No one speaks english so we misuderstood you had to leave your keys at reception if you wanted you room cleaned, room was never cleaned during our stay for that reason. Breakfast is only served from 8 to 10 and there is no flexibility, 1st morning I asked at 10:00 if we could still eat something, answer was no!

The poussada has rooms and chalet in the middle of the "jungle" so you really feel like you are living a different experience compared to a classic hotel. All rooms/chalet have hammocks which is very pleasant as well. You are very close to the center, but also in a quieter area which is nice, you can hear the birds every day. Breakfast was great. Air conditionning is perfectly working. Showers are good. There are two swimming pools.

Would have liked more wardrobe space. Our room was adjacent the road and as the structure of the rooms were of log cabins style it was noisy as people passed by

Nice chalet. Has an AC. Plenty of space. Feels like you are in the middle of the jungle. Decent breakfast. Good WiFi.

Wifi was a bit unstable and I a hair dryer in the room would've been great

Rooms were relatively small, but comfortable and cosy. A good breakfast was included. The garden was lush and very nice, they also have a pool. The staff helped me with the booking of the transfer back

Loved the free snack time coffee and cake every day at 5pm. Breakfast was amazing every morning! Beautiful surroundings, felt really peaceful.

We didn't use the steam room because it had to be booked, we would have used if we could have just turned up and used for a bit. We were too busy relaxing on the island than to plan a day around a quick use of the steam room.

Excellent location just a few minutes walk from the boat terminal but not directly in the village. The only noises we heard were the animals and birds in the jungle. Loved the set up and the pousada is peaceful, even when other guests are on the complex. We didn't use the pool but it looked clean and inviting (although unheated). We used the snooker table and air hockey, which our teenage son enjoyed. Breakfast was buffet style and had a lot of different items to chose from, served in a lovely location on the site.Amazing place and I would definitely come back.

Everything was great

Everything was absolutely fabulous! The location is perfect, not in the middle of the noise in the center. And at the same time very close to the beach. You feel like in a cocoon, it is quiet, relaxing, calming. A big thank you to the team, they were very helpful. Especially the lovely Isabella. Although our chalet wasn't very spacious, it was beautiful, we enjoyed the hammock and all the amenities available. A pleasant surprise was their afternoon tea, such an attention to detail very welcome after a long exhausting day out exploring the island. As well as the pool, the bbq and the play area. I cannot recommend enough the delicious breakfast, our best breakfast in Brazil. Complete with fresh fruits ,fresh juices everyday, sweet and savoury choices. We appreciated having a carriage to help bring our suitcases all the way to the harbour.

Mata Nativa it’s one of the best pousadas in Ilha Grande, it is just beautiful! you feel like In the middle of the jungle. The staff members are amazing friendly. the location is lovely as it is in Abrão. It was a great experience.

The staff was simply amazing. They negotiated the best prices with other touristic services, advices us honestly and answered any need or question. When our 500km shuttle cancelled last minute on us, they took us with their own car the whole journey for the same price (private transfer!). We rarely experienced such friendly service. The breakfast was perfect, the housing was super cute and clean in an amazing location next to the river. We’ll come back!

The top bunk bed in the chalet was really high and didn’t have a safety bar on so instead of putting my child in it I had to put my husband in it instead

The breakfast was great, good choice of fruits meat and cheese, some cereal, cooked eggs, facilities to make toast and toasted sandwiches and a microwave. Staff were all lovely and rooms cleaned daily was great
