Have to make your own bed, can be tougher when on the top bunk. Doors are left open to air out the room during the day, but means some bugs / spiders can get inside. They have an area to dry clothes and towels outside, but because of the humidity, your stuff will take days to dry and end up smelling anyway and require a wash. They forbid hanging clothes in rooms due to humidity, but there’s no doubt your clothes would dry much faster in there when the AC is on.

Beautiful property designed in the trees / jungle of the island. Great location in Centro Vila. The walk to the property might seem sketch as it leads to a dead end street, but you’ll be met with a stunning walk thru the trees to get to reception. Lockers for bags and valuables, curtains for beds, AC at night from 10pm-10am. Nice pool, skate ramp, bar area. Coworking area and kitchen but kitchen lacks things like a kettle. Clean toilets and showers. Plenty of spots to chill and hang out. They have some cool rooms you can stay in, like a sail boat, kombi bus, or treehouse style. Wifi works well. There’s even a tattoo parlour. Two cute hostel cats.

The smell of urine inside the yurt. I've rented 2 yurt, one was fine, but the other one was okay on the first day, but a strong smell or urine from the second day onwards. it was not a big deal. Overall the experience was excellent

Great facilities location and comfort. The people were so kind and helpful. We loved our treehouse and the bed was super comfortable. For Ilhabela this is a superb base and the view from the Co working room was spectacular.

More whole body mirrors would be nice

Amazingly inspiring options for privates, beds and bedsheets like in a 5*hotel, fantastic location, everything just beautiful, stylish and with a lot of love for the detail. Great stuff. Actually the best hostel I’ve ever seen - will definitely be back to experience the other privates like a tree house or a tent with ocean view.

The camper van is OK for a couple of nights, but there are fairly large holes in the vents/boot doors, so bugs were freely able to come in. We got chewed up by the mozzies on a couple of the nights we stayed… Clean towels/bedding would have been nice, too, given we stayed for three nights.

It’s a great location and a very sociable atmosphere. The staff are super friendly.

Hostel da Vila was an amazing experience! Me and my friend arrived at the hostel and were immediately met by the friendly staff who the showed us around the place. The hostel has everything you can ask for. It has a pool with a slack line across, a huge slide, a skate ramp, a pool table, a tattoo shop, a bar that makes the best food and drinks. I especially recommend the Vila Mule! The location is perfect. It’s a 2 minute walk down to the center where you can easily catch a bus to the rest of the island. At night we would play games and have fun at the hostel with the staff and residents until 11/12 ish where we would all go to the city center and dance samba in the street or listen to forró and mingle with everyone. We are definitely coming back.

Amazing location. Such a cool place and the staff made us feel so welcome. They gave us great recommendations for stuff to do on the island and spoke English brilliantly too. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend - I hope we can come back!

I couldn't have been more pleased. Among the highlights, I mention the professionals in the staff area who were always very kind and helpful, exceeding expectations. Another highlight is the location of the Hostel, in the center of the island, which makes it very easy to find options to enjoy the night (staying in other parts of the island left me with the perception that having fun at night would be more difficult). The hostel itself is very beautiful.

super cool hostel to stay in and lots of choice in terms of the different types of accommodation. I stayed in the treehouse and loved it! defo worth the money. the hostel has everything you need with great chill areas and the pool, food/drinks on site and live music events some nights. met some cool people and the staff are super welcoming and helpful. i definitely wouldn't hesitate to come back !
