Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

I stayed for 5 nights and everything was totally fine, kitchen well equipped (just the gas has barely power), clean rooms and nice outside area, two minutes walk to the beach. Amazing owner who cares a lot about your well being.

Beautiful place with beautiful people. It’s warm, colorful and filled with good vibes. Easy and relaxed. Juan and his family are super welcoming and always up for a chat or a recommendation. Anything you need you will find close by, and the ocean is only a few meters away. I loved every minute of my stay. Thank you!

Unfortunately, they didn't have any soft boards, only short boards. So if you're a beginner in surfing, you'll have to find another place to rent your board.
Very calm and cosy hostel, 2 minutes from the beach. It was well equipped and we felt very comfortable there. The host was also very nice and recommended many things to do on the island.

It was low season so not so many travelers there the last night.
The staff and owner were absolutely incredible with tons of great suggestions and knowledge of the area super friendly and willing to accommodate anything you needed. It's very well maintained with a nice chill. Vibe and good social areas. And only a 2 minute walk to the beach right at the end of the street! Had everything you needed. Huge private room with my own kitchen! Met cool new friends.

it wasn’t a very social hostel in the way that there were no volunteers working, and you would only see the staff in the reception or else they would be in their own house next to the hostel. but they were really nice!
Loved that when I arrived they gave me a map of the island and told me recommendations for hikes and beaches! Amazing location, close to the beach, small supermarket, a street with bars and restaurant, and felt like a really safe and charming area! the hostel had a lot of hammocks and a nice grass area, also nice big place to dry clothes.

I had an amazing time at floripa surf hostel. The hostel is super close to the beach and very cozy and relaxed. You have a small supermarket nearby. Surfboards can be rented at the hostel or the surf school, whose employees are also very friendly. I loved it there.

Could do a little more cleaning.
The staff was great and showed me on a map everything I can do around the area. They rented good surfboards for good price and the beach was superclose. The rooms had a lot of space and the kitchen was well-equipped. All in all a good experience.

Great hostel right by the beach. You can rent surfboards and the owner was very helpful and gave plenty of tips about what to do in the area.

there were lots of mosquitoes in the room, a mosquito net would have been helpful.
this is a really nice hostel, there was a good atmosphere. the room was basic but good value for money and the owner was really friendly

The room was a bit dirty, especially the bathroom. Not very close to supermarkets.
The place is close the beach, and the guy at the front desk is very kind.

No hand soap provided in the shared dorm. This was baffling for me (and probably the other guests), as it is totally antihygienic. Would rather pay a few bucks more than this. Room itself is ok, mattress was deformed at the middle (not bad enough to feel the bed but you could feel the difference) and the bathroom inside the room make it a lot more noisy (and possibly smell bad) on the shared dorm. Only 1 restaurant close by, the others are more concentrated in the center which is around 25min walking. But as I've said, considering the price it is a valid option
Great location (2min walk to the beach). Cheapest place around and considering what it offers, best cost benefit for who wants to enjoy the beach and surf.

The location is great if you just want to chill at the hostel and surf at the beach, for a decent size shop its 20 minutes walk at least, a hint of nightlife or a busy bar you're looking at a 40 minute uber or much longer on multiple buses. With the bar closed, the place seriously lacked atmosphere. There was a couple visitors to through a tiny gap underneath the door and we had cold showers 3 days out of 4, not sure of the reason.
Juan on reception have a great introduction to the place, though we percieved everything to be a lot closer than it actually was. Private room was very spacious and had aircon and a private kitchen facility.
