Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

United StatesAnt problem which was random because they were not there the first night
We had a fun time getting to our room! We took an old-style elevator and climbed a set of stairs to the 13th floor. The room had breathtaking views of the beach and was very spacious. We had to switch rooms due to an ant problem, but the hotel concierge kindly organized that for us on short notice. Additionally, the hotel graciously held our bags after check-out on the last day until we needed to leave for the airport.

United KingdomThe staff at the reception said that we could easily separate the bed ourselves when we said that there was a double bed despite our approved request for twin bed! She looked at us insistently and as if she were looking at stupid people :) However, we had checked the bed. New sheets and bedding were needed. As a matter of fact, the house keepers came and did it. But the bed was the hardest bed I've ever tried to sleep on in my life. A healthy sleep was not possible.

NetherlandsThe room didn't give a very clean feeling, the floor felt dusty, there were stains on the walls, pain was worn out. The ACs are old window ACs, so they weren't effective at cooling the large room properly, and were very loud. So it was tough to sleep at night in the heat of February.
Good safe location within 3 minutes walking to the beach and some nice botecos. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was not very varied, but pretty good. Shampoo and soap and towels changed daily if required. Rooms are very spacious.

SwedenBit old, we were on the 13th floor so we had to carry up 3 huge suitcases and 2 smaller ones. Receptionists weren’t as good as the reviews described - maybe we just got unlucky. The airconditioning is very old and doesn’t work so well.
The location was alright, street felt quite safe, lots of space in the room! Great bathroom, we got lucky with a fab sea-view. Very cheap, so super worth it.

The location is very good. The build is wit the same vibe of the entire copacabana: the glory days are over and it is quite old, but very clean. The apartment is functional, with a blackout, good bed and nice sheets. The breakfast was very nice..

South AfricaThe lack of utensils in the kitchen. Such a huge kitchen with lots of potential. Ive washed everything in the kitchen before we’ve used it because it gives you the impression it’s dirty. But i guess it’s just old. No kettle. Please invest in a kettle for that apartment!!! Ive missed my coffee and tea in the mornings. There was a little coffee maker thing which i didn’t felt comfortable to use. There is an old bread toaster / snackwich bread thing which we also didn’t use. Please throw away that thing. It’s dirty and rusty. The microwave is working but soooo old. There were only 2 coffee mugs but its was ok because we couldn’t make any coffee. Lol The main bedroom needs a new mattress urgently. Ok im not complaining because we loved the apartment with all the space but please guys give attention to the kitchen.
Nice big apartment on top floor. Sea & beach view out of sitting room. Christ de Redeemer out of kitchen window. Very pretty views. Extremely nice aircons in all the rooms. Very good. Cleaning staff were efficient. Language barrier a huge problem. Sign language & translation on phone did its work. Be aware of the stairs. To get to the top floor you can only go to floor 12 by lift and then you have to climb i pair of stairs to floor 13. Once you open your front door theres a few more stairs waiting for you. Lol. We were fine with that because it felt like a bit of exercise

AustraliaI was only there for a super short time, but I think if I was staying for longer the bathroom would have annoyed me. Basic shower, toilet and basin but there’s nowhere in the sink area to put anything. Much like the main bedroom, very basic and sparse. Again, would be fine for a shorter stay, and location.
The location is fantastic, barely a minutes walk to Copacabana beach with heaps of great restaurants around. The staff were friendly, helpful and approachable. I will preface my review that I only spent 2 hours in my room and booked it to have a shower before my flight after a day out in Rio, and to store my luggage. (Which they do hold for you). It would be good for short stays, if you’re not expecting much from your room.

I Had a really enjoyable staying. Beautiful view from the room. The location is amazing, near the beach post 5 which is surrounded by nice kiosks, vibrant atmosphere with people playing sports and lots of options for food and drinks. Breakfast was good, loads of options and very welcoming staff. Reception staff are lovely and very friendly and helpful.
