Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

The key lock box was a little tricky to get the lid back on, but after a few tries we managed to get it closed again.
Over the weekend, my family and I had the pleasure of staying at a charming 2-bedroom apartment located on the Esplanade in Victor Harbor. Our experience was nothing short of delightful, thanks to the comfortable accommodation, excellent breakfast provisions, lovely decor, private parking, and ideal location. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the cosy ambiance of the apartment. The decor was tastefully done, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that made us feel right at home. The layout of the apartment was well thought out, providing ample space for relaxation and leisure activities. One of the highlights of our stay was the excellent breakfast provisions provided by the accommodation. We were pleasantly surprised to find a variety of delicious options waiting for us, ensuring that we started each day of our stay on the right foot. The location of the apartment couldn't have been better. Situated on the Esplanade, we were just a stone's throw away from all that Victor Harbor has to offer. Whether it was strolling along the waterfront, exploring the local shops and restaurants, or enjoying the attractions nearby, everything was conveniently close by. We stayed for two nights, and throughout our stay, we appreciated the small touches that made our experience extra special. From the meticulously clean and comfortable furnishings to the thoughtful amenities provided, every detail was carefully considered. In particular, we enjoyed the entertainment options available, including the dartboard and access to Netflix. It was the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring the area, and it added an extra layer of enjoyment to our stay. We would highly recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a cosy retreat in Victor Harbor, and we can't wait to return for another stay in the future.

The weather ! Everything else was perfect.
The location just across from the beach was fantastic. Less than a 40 sec walk to the best resteraunt in town. The apartment was beautiful, so clean and well appointed. Lots of little extas thrown in too. A perfect jewel in Victor Harbour. The host was a joy to deal with, friendly , bright, and helpful. Cannot recommend this apartment highly enough. Will definitely be back if in the area.

The lack of a full kitchen was a only a minor inconvenience.
The stylish property is in easy walking distance of all of Victor Harbour's places on interest. The property offers elegance and comfort in abundance. The help your self breakfast was generous and the out door area a great place to relax.

We can’t find fault.
This property is a credit to the owners. Delightful, well presented, well appointed and well provisioned, there was nothing that could be faulted. The property is position close to the granite island causeway, adjacent to great food outlets and basically within walking distance all necessities. The staff are extremely helpful.

What a truly beautiful home! An absolute credit to owner Jane. So many plus's with decor, cleanliness, snacks, location and sheer comfort. She has certainly gone the extra mile with beautiful little touches and even left flowers for my daughter.....so very grateful!

Nothing- everything is perfect!
Town house is spacious and spotless. Location is great - across the road from the beach and a short walk to the shops and restaurants. Our dog enjoyed the enclosed backyard. Breakfast provisions and snacks were a lovely bonus. Great communication with our host. We definitely recommend!
