Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Wifi didn't work in my room. Bathroom is unavailable for two hours each day due to (very slow) cleaning at inconvenient times (morning and evening), the breakfast is sub-par (cheap jam/peanut butter, white bread), they really need an extra fridge, my interactions with the staff lacked kindness/enthusiasm.
Hostel is modern and spacious. Dorms/bathroom are of high quality when it comes to bedding, facilities. The building is lovely and there is elevator access. Kitchen has everything you need for basic cookings. For those interested, there are daily activities to get to know other travellers.

Breakfast is a bit poor. Facilities are a bit old. Common rooms have room for improvement. Ventilation for many beds should be improved. Upper beds should have curtains to not see the ceiling as it is exposed to light.

No power points in rooms and the USB port at the bedside would not charge my phone due to unstable power. The phone would register as charging, then not charge. This was with a modern 2024 model phone.
One of the nicest hostels iv ever stayed in. Comfortable beds with curtains on the bunks. Clean spaces, beautiful building and an excellent location.

The kitchen is a bit small for all the guest the have and also someone stolen food of my pack.
It has a great location and confortable facilities to stay. It was very clean and the bedrooms were spacious.

The kitchen was so full from 18:30 pm that it was not possible to cook. There wasn't enough space for so many people and there wasn't enough room in the fridges to store things. Every day you had to look for your cool bag in the fridge and hope to find it and that nothing was crushed or broken, which was a shame. The lounge area also needs renovation.
The room was bright, spacious and comfortable, the location was great and everything was very clean! The toilets and showers were cleaned twice a day, which was great.

There are not enough kitchen facilities for the size of the hostel, it’s not a nice place to cook with so many people. Also 2 sinks is not enough. However it wouldn’t put me off staying again as everything else was great!
Probably one of the best hostel vibes I’ve experienced. Great location, within walking distance to many attractions. The train station, light rail and buses are also close. I liked the various daily social activities the hostel provided and the free breakfast. The dining area is also a great way to meet people and is always lively. Bunk beds are quite big ( much bigger than standard) with curtains, charger and lamp.

The beds didn’t have numbers, so I had to choose a bed that was free. After a couple of nights the bed i had been sleeping in was taken by someone else because the cleaner changed the sheets thinking that no one was occupying that bed. My personal towel was thrown away by the cleaner too. I don’t blame the cleaners as I it’s not their fault but rather the owner’s of the hostel limited understanding of the confusion created by not having the beds assigned to the guests.
The room was clean and so were the toilets and showers. You have lockers in the room to keep your stuff safe.

Sometimes the kitchen was loud and the wifi did not work perfectly

It would have been great to have water fountains on each level that has both hot and cold water to fill water bottles/make tea. The curtains around the bed just needed to be slightly wider to give proper privacy. I got woken up on the first night by street sweepers and trucks as we had the window open at night. Nothing to do about that since it’s on the main road but closing windows and curtains helps!
Free breakfast, adjoining cafe, convenient location and the lounge with Netflix was great! The bed lights with USB ports and shower gel provisions were a nice bonus.
