The added cost booking through booking.com I was not aware off. The cost of room was higher than if we booked directly through ShangriLa. Also the additional surcharge we had to pay cause a visa debit card was used to pay. As this was a saved girlfriends weekend, these costs were not budgeted into it. That was slightly disappointing.

The bed was absolutely comfortable. The darling harbour view and seeing the sunset gorgeous

Check in was slow as room wasn't ready upon check in we arrived at 3:00pm We had to follow up to see if the room was ready after being told we would be contacted via phone once it was ready. we waited in the lobby bar area for approximately 45Minutes until finding out ourselves that the room was ready Lobby furnishings are dated and damaged with poor seating t Breakfast wait staff inexperienced had to remind staff about ordered coffee a number of times while others around us seated after us gad received their orders

Room was spacious, Room was very comfortable Location was convenient Views were excellent. car parking and retrieval via the valet was very efficient

On check in, we were allocated a room on level 4. This had a very limited view of the harbour. When booking, I was under the impression we would have a full harbour view, however this was not the case. Reception was very helpful & moved us to Level 9. This was fantastic & the view we were hoping for. Hot water was Luke warm. Decor a little dated.

The location in the Rocks is fantastic. Close to historic landmarks & old pubs/ restaurants. The views are amazing. The rooms are spacious & comfortable. Breakfast, service & views from the restaurant on level 36 were exceptional!

The pool was very cold sadly. Breakfast was super expensive for what was on offer Staff in the restaurant seems stressed which was a bit off-putting.

There was a lovely feel in the foyer. The rooms were very clean and tidy and comfortable. Staff delivering room service were very sweet.

Reception is noisy and cannot hear my talking. The final charge was higher than the confirmed booking amount by $10 or so. I didn't fight it but I though it odd. We stayed one night and did not add anything whatsoever.

I didn't know about the nightly incidental costs paid upfront at check-in. Until the administrator realised I didn't know about it and explained what it was I just about had a heart attack. I had no issue with the cost itself, I was already planning spending that money there anyway. But that cost being shown and explained in the booking process or confirmation emails would have been very much appreciated. The bath was big but the water height limit made it difficult to enjoy because I'm big enough that the water couldn't cover me without the limiter automatically draining the water. It was honestly really disappointing.

The staff were very helpful and explained things well. The room was comfortable and I loved the view. The minibar was cheaper than expected. The hotel is in a good area, there's plenty to do. The pool was fun.

Hotel well maintained but looked like I was stepping back into the ‘90s…all a bit dated. I noticed a few minor things that could be described as bandaid repairs that were poorly executed. Breakfast service terrible - queue lines unacceptable and poor service offered at top floor bar.

Location ideal; room spacious. Concierge staff helpful and accommodating.

As much as the view is lovely at breakfast. The room itself was very warm ,even sitting back off the window .My partner & I felt over heated & had to leave our breakfast as it was very warm. Very busy but well handled by all service . Maybe alittle air flow wouldn't hurt

The hotel team made check in & out very easy. The horizon extras were lovely .

It was a big walk up many stairs and hills to get there from train station wish we had of known this. The cost of food at venue was outrageous, I understand it’s the the shangri la but $39 for a room service burger and $50 each for breakky. Surely breakfast should be included in the rate
