How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

I stayed in room 12 on the ground floor which was an internal room but very quiet. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom great with good water pressure. The staff at reception were most helpful with maps and directions and holding my bag for me. There was a good guest laundry on site if one had a need for it. Restaurant/cafe had good coffee and a reasonable food selection. Short stroll to trams and Casino.

Our bathroom was quite dirty upon arrival and most days after. Just did not look clean. Also noise from the room above was horrid.
The location was central to our needs and staff were very friendly

The bathroom was tiny, you wouldn’t want to be a heavy person as you couldn’t fit into the shower cavity. The sliding bathroom door was frosted glass, you can see through with the light on.
Staff were so lovely and the location was fantastic.

Not much leg room when using the toilet. The water output randomly decreases in the beginning of a shower and need to re-adjust afterwards.
Quite spacious, clean, and very nice service. The location is very friendly for first timers in Melbourne CBD

No parking available at the hotel have to pay $25 a day. Bathrooms were tiny struggled to get in and out of the shower comfortably. Beds not over comfortable.
Great location, very helpful staff. Clean rooms.

The room needed more attention to cleaning, bathroom wasn’t cleaned very well and cracks in ceiling

Information on nearby parking was not available with reception. Bathroom a tad cramped.
Great city hotel. Clean, neat and with plety of dining options nearby. Geat Location if you are attending any events at the MCG or the Tennis facility

- minimal soundproofing, would recommend earplugs - bathroom a little cramped, a bit dingy but clean - no natural airflow in rooms but high ceilings compensate somewhat - minimal natural light/no view in interior rooms
+ very convenient location to southern cross + firm bed + cafe is quiet, spacious and decent quality + check in/out was friendly and efficient + shower pressure + high quality air-conditioner

Could sometimes hear other people's doors being shut
Although a single bedroom, it was plenty big enough with desk, wardrobe, kettle. No traffic from road and very clear tv picture

there is a shelf in bathroom above the very small hand bowl, unable to lean over hand bowl to shave or clean teeth, you need to cut out section of shelf above hand bowl

Extremely slow lift, and only one working Ultra tiny bathroom basin and shower door An extra rubbish bin would be handy

The bathroom was a bit small mainly the door to enter the shower. The bed was really hard to sleep on. Had the fire alarm go off while there & no one informed us of what is happening until I went down stairs to ask
For what I needed location was great. Room was good, nice size for the time I was there.

It's an efficient use of space, but the bathroom is small. Like I had to enter the shower sideways and pretty much step back out into the bedroom getting out of it. I'm not sure how you'd manage it with the door closed so maybe don't share with someone you're not willing to be seen naked by.
For a room advertised as a shoebox I was pleasantly surprised by the size. Location is excellent and having parking so close by at a capped price was really helpful. The bed was comfortable and all in all an excellent base for a concert in the city. It had a nice little reading spot on my floor with a book swap area. Staff were friendly and courteous.
