There's very loud at night. At ground floor there's a bar, in which around 8 pm really loud music starts to play. There's also a bar's garden right under the windows, unfortunately mine as well. There's also loud at night inside the hostel. Combining it with relatively thin walls - it can be hard to fall asleep.

The hostel in right in the opposite of Queen Victoria Market. It's a great point to start exploring the city, escpecially that it's in free tram zone. Room conditions aren't the best, but you have a bed, desk, heater and fans - you can easily manage the temperature you like, even in winter. Common parts were cleaned regularly.

One of the two bathrooms of my floor broke down during my second day and sadly, until the end of my stay, this wasn’t fix. As one can imagine, with only one bathroom for many guests the cues in the morning were sometimes long. Wish this could have been fixed sooner.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful (Thank you, Rachel). And the location couldn’t be better because the free tram zone to the city starts just crossing the street. Also, the rules of the place made everything work peacefully and respectfully between the guests.

The beds were basically a wire mesh and you better create your own bunkbed curtains, otherwise you won't get absolutely any privacy. A few items got lost on that room, and nobody helped. Since the staff consisted mainly of volunteers, it was common for them not knowing the answers or where things are. In fact, they even made the booking process uncomfortable, because they never knew if they were going to have room for you and will move you from room to room. The common areas were not comfortable either. Not even one couch or area to have a phone call. And uffff, wait until the weekend heavy metal concerts!!! Trying to sleep on top of a rock bar is a JOKE! you are forced to shut the bedroom windows in hope to diminish the sound, but then you get stucked with the heavy odour of the people you share the room with. Terrible nights!

If you are on a super tight budget, this hostel might be acceptable for a while..., but you will want to get out soon!! It was kind of good, but not enough. Not clean enough, not comfortable enough, not organized enough, not private enough, not quite enough...

There is a bar on the building ground floor - a rock bar. All bass gets transmitted through brick walls to the whole building. There is also a slamming door at the bar, probably in a toilet, that does it every 20 - 40 seconds. The noise also gets transmitted through to the whole building. Don't expect sleeping earlier than 3 AM Saturday nights and very likely other party nights.

Excellent location. Small place and fairly good for a hostel. The place seems well looked after, showers need more attention with mould though.

my roomies were all sleeping during the day and being noisy during the night. that’s bad luck though. Rooms are not very homey and nice. Beds seems very old. Anyways worst part is that rock and roll bar which is amazingly loud on weekends, specially if you stay in the first floor. And as said in other reviews as well it lasts till 6 in the morning. But I think they play mainly just friday and saturday and maybe sunday. I ended up leaving earlier because it was too hard to sleep here bc my roomies and the bar. I probably would have asked for a another room but I got a place at my friend’s house instead. receiption is open only till 5:30 and there is evening staff person too but you need to call or text him to reach him. there is very little storage space in the rooms and floor was not cleaned.

The patrons of the neighbour use foul language quite often and quite loud. There were also voices that were worry that some of them might have mental issues, bad mouthing others, who might be staying at the accommodation at time, while stating their reasons and try to justify their quick mindedness to go beyond their pay grade and or authorisation (eg: talking about foreigners, assuming that their laws are what have been assumed by them). At times, there were smoky odour that can creep into the room. Some might be from the neighbour.

Breakfast was not offered. I did not asked for a quiet room, but my first dormmate was really worry that I might not know how loud the neighbour's patron might be. The dining room is very lovely. The kitchen and bathroom were relatively very clean most times.
