Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaWhen I first arrived a lot of the bathroom handles had already broken but during my time there that was fixed so honestly not a big issue. As with any hostel, especially a capsule hostel with about 200 beds in one room it occasionally got a little noisy despite the rules but it usually wasn’t too bad and if someone was too loud or became a really nuisance it was dealt with. Like I said it’s a little pricey but considering it included dinner every night along with breakfast and occasionally other food like doughnuts you can help yourself too, and includes toiletries like shampoo aswell and is in a really good location I don’t think it was too bad. I paid $1,278AUD for 30 days which is $42.60 a night (Approx £22.18/ $28.26 USD/ €26.05 a night based on todays Google stats). Wi-Fi could sometimes be a bit weak but in my experience that’s just an issue in any hostel in Australia lol. My only real issues which are not major issues anyway, are that breakfast didn’t include pancakes (which most hostels I’ve stayed at in Australia, that have breakfast do include). And that there is decent food storage for your dry food but for most people it’s really awkward to get too (I.e. you need to go up a step ladder to access it). They definitely need a better location for the food boxes! But overall I was very happy with everything!
As a very picky eater it was kinda wasted on me lol, but there was free dinner every night aswell as breakfast. This included vegetarian options. And sometimes they’d have extra food like doughnuts. Staff were really nice and helpful, they even helped me take my stuff to the tram when I checked out (I had a LOT of stuff lol). You got a private capsule, which was great for privacy, you’d forget how many people are all sharing this one massive room. Your capsule came with linen you can change every week including a nice towel. The hostel was kept clean. I think partly cause it’s so new but I hope it stays like this. Reception is open 24/7 so there’s always someone available if you need it. They would have little events like trivia nights, ping ping competitions and bingo (where I won a iron man keyring hehe and beer was another prize option). I also think they plan on adding more events like this as they think of more ideas. There is a little freezer space that’s not just for staff, so you might be able to get the odd freezer item if you want. But honestly you won’t need to buy much food as most of it’s included. There’s also small lockers where you can put your valuables such as iPads, switches, laptops etc. and there’s a good amount of storage under your capsule bed, as well as places to out any large suitcases or anything else that doesn’t fit under the bed. The bathrooms come with shampoo, conditioner and soap on the wall. There is also hair dryers in the bathroom. The bed in the capsule was actually quite comfortable which I think is very good for a hostel bunk bed. The bed includes plug sockets, a mini fan and a light (which charge when plugged in) above your bed (ps the switch for the fan it at the top of the fan if you can’t find it). The location is also really good, it’s within a 5-10 minute walk of a beach, tram and shopping centre that has things like coles, Woolworths, food court and an Event cinema.

AustraliaLocation was a bit average, not much to do in the area and it's a taxi ride to go anywhere clubbing at night. The pods were very small (but expected that anyway so no major issues). Would have been nice to have a door on the pods for better privacy and security and maybe some built in air conditioning as it can get very hot. But all minor things and overall enjoyed it!
Decided to stay the night on the GC and this was a nice, last minute cheap option. The set up was great - interesting layout of all the capsules and nice common area to hang out in, as the capsules themselves are really small.

AustraliaI didn’t like the smells, small hallways and very cluttered in
I liked the location (apart from their being lots of drug affected people and homeless people outside, but they cannot control that), as it was right next to the tram way to get to the city of Gold Coast. I liked the bathroom facilities, very modern and clean.

Very good value for money. The staff are very friendly and always smiling. They always go above and beyond to help with any questions. Especially Niva the Manager. The added bonus of having food included for breakfast and dinner is great and really helps with budgeting.

SloveniaThere’s nothing I didn’t like, maybe just that not all toillets had a lock.
I really liked how clean it is. Also, everything is new. Dorms are very quiet but the terrace is lively. Kitchen is very well equipped, you have everything you need for cooking. I loved free breakfasts and dinners the most because they are great. Also, you can get great free coffee at the reception every morning :) The bathrooms have shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, hair dryer,… Plus, the stuff is so nice!

ItalyI never saw an hostel with such bed arrangement. Basically all beds are in the same room so there’s a lot of activity back and forth the room at all times. Even if there is a “24h quite time” rule there are a lot of noises so if you are a light sleeper like I am it’s not a plus. Some people respect the no chatting/ no calling rule in the bedroom area some aren’t. If you travel with one person though there are also two beds private rooms which it would have been more quite probably but I was travelling alone. Because the premise is so new I think they can still improve with small expedients like more hangers in the bathroom or a shelf inside the capsule bed (I didn’t know were to rest my glasses or my phone during the night). I don’t know why in most of the bathroom/ shower doors the locks were missing.
The hostel is brand new. Very much organised with nice amenities. The sheets were clean and also the bathrooms were cleaned daily. Breakfast and dinner included which is much appreciated. All the people of staff are amazing: helpful and kind. Kitchen and common areas very nice. I didn’t cook at all so I can’t tell if you can find all tools you need but everything looks very tidy and neat in the kitchen. There are lockers with plugs in it where you can put your valuables. (Actually it would have been better to have it near or inside the capsule bed.) Easy to travel from the hostel up and down to all Gold Coast. Buses and tram a few minutes from the door. To travel on buses you need the special Gocard while on trams you can easily tap with your Credit card.

IrelandI did not dislike anything, only things I had to say as it is a new place which I’m pretty sure they are implementing soon anyway is plug sockets out the back chill area and a couple of laundry machines
The concept was new to me and I absolutely loved it, the place is soo clean and ran impeccably well, breakfast and dinner are great (a nice social time) and the bedroom is very quiet which is a major plus.. I’ve travelled for 15 years and have never seen anything ran like this! Great experience!
