Super cute and cozy hotel in a great location. Staff was very helpful and friendly, even accommodated our early check in. We almost broke their air conditioner and they were really nice about it LOL nice amenities as well, hair dryer, shampoo/body wash, and our housekeeping came every day to change out our towels. Loved the terrace that came with our room. The hotel was very quiet considering so many of us were there for a music festival. Centrally located, only a ten minute walk from the city center with supermarket and many restaurants. Bed was comfortable and I loved the thick blackout blinds to keep the room dark when the sun came up. Really enjoyed our stay and would absolutely stay here again.

Everything was great. We loved the swimming pool, sauna, and steam bath. The wellness facility was very clean. Our room was nice with a very comfortable nice King bed. I slept like a baby. The breakfast was top notch with many options. I loved that there was a good combination of cold and warm foods as my american husband likes to eat eggs and bacon for breakfast while I enjoy a sandwich or croissant. We will come back to this hotel if we are in the area again.

Awesome place in the Netherlands!

Awesome place in the Netherlands! Even if you live in Amsterdam and surroundings, this place is a good get-away from routines. Great restaurants, good services, and relaxing atmosphere. We stayed in Bilderberg hotel which is centrally located, dined in Santos, Argentinian restaurant, and everything was just like getting abroad from the day-to-day life. All this with reasonable pricetag!

Inflation is a common thing, but Zandvoort tops it all.

Inflation is a common thing, but Zandvoort tops it all. Parking for the week was 120 €. In town you have to pay 4€ for the first two hours (minimum time), thereafter 7 € per hour. Frikandel from the FEBO vending machine was 3 € a piece. More expensive than in Alkmaar (2.40€) and even Amsterdam. Kibbeling varied in quality, but we found a good place at the beach (7.50 € with 4 sauces!). Restaurant were generally very "greedy". Top prices for Pizza Margherita 14.50 €, Tomato Soup 9 €, Cheesecake 9 € and Schnitzel with fries and salad 37.50 €!!!! Petrol about 30-35 cents per liter more than in Germany. I don't know how families with children can afford these prices??? I believe that other locations in The Netherlands are more reasonable, for example Provinz Zeeland, which we visited earlier this year. Zandvoort is for "High Society"!!!???

I used to live 20 minute cycle ride from here so have been there many times. Very nice town, the promenade is a lovely walk or bike ride. Would encourage people to hire bikes and explore. There is a fantastic bike ride through the dunes very scenic. The beach is very big with restaurants dotted all along. A really nice place to visit.

Relax and let the maritime dutchness flow into you.

Relax and let the maritime dutchness flow into you. The town itself has always been a let-down and I've been coming here since 1986. The boulevard and walk along it from the train station to the organ pipes are wonderful. One experiences the river West Scheldt estuary and the North Sea. Do ensure you have winter and rain-proof clothing with you. The weather is fickle, however it is beautiful in all seasons. The locks near the train station are interesting and a ferry can be taken to cross by foot or bicycle to the other side where buses can be taken to Brugges. Back in Vlissengen, if the weather is suitable, a walk up to Middleburg along the canal is well worthwhile, as are walks or hikes the other way along the sand dune paths on the North Sea coast side. Then, of course, there are the magnificent bicycle paths. A bicycle shop that hires out bicycles is near the train station. Many hotels and apartment places also offer bicyle hire. And there are numerous eating places, less are open in the winter, however there's still a good selection.

Egmond aan Zee is a charming little beach town in the Netherlands with all the shops and Restaurants you could wish for. As a family of four we liked to walk to the Dekamarkt for our daily breakfast and snacks at the beach. At night we would eat at restaurants, at the typically Dutch snackbar 'Bij Brigitte' or eat Kibbeling(fish) at the Coast. We rented bikes for the day to travel further out. The remains of a castle in Egmond aan de Hoef was very interesting for our preteens and the next coastal town over 'Bergen aan Zee' was lovely as well. We visted the Aquarium there which was facinating for the entire family. Venturing out by foot into the Duinen is recommended as well. We saw wild Horses, oxes and a gorgeous sunset. In the Smidstraat there was a little secondhand Shop full of antiques. So much so that it seemed more a Museum than a shop! Everybody seemed to be able to speak a little German and if not their amazing english skills were impressive! I hope you have a wonderful time in Egmond aan Zee.

A small town with access to the large sandy beach, via a short walk. We watched the seals bobbing around and enjoyed a hot drink in one of the many beach cafes. In town there’s a selection of bars and restaurants, which suit all ages and budgets.

This is a wonderful place for a peaceful escape.

This is a wonderful place for a peaceful escape. It is in the middle of forest and pastures so it is very quiet. There are excellent walking trails nearby. The house is very clean and tastefully decorated with enough space to be very comfortable. Even in the cold of winter it was well heated. The kitchen is very well equipped with good quality items. The quirky coffee-maker is fascinating and makes excellent coffee. There is a very good collection of maps and guide books for the local area. Hanneke's welcome was fulsome and very friendly and informative. Checkout was efficient and friendly. There are several very good restaurants a short drive away, try Puur.

Many opportunities for eating out and close to the beach and nature. Relatively far from the other cities but not as far as De Cocksdorp: Den Burg or De Waal would be a better option if you want to be in a more central area, but everything is relatively close so it does not matter too much.

Nes is a cosy, historical village, not cheap, but not very expensive either. It is the harbor village located almost in the middle of Ameland and therefore perfect for day trips to either direction. The restaurants are good quality, so is the ice-cream, the vegetables and everything else you can buy. There is a great supermarket called Jumbo on the main road from the ferry. If you want to go for hikes, nature with lots of birds, deer and wild rabbits are just a short walk away. The Amelanders love their horses, and they are everywhere.
