Daiwa Roynet Hotel Nishi-Shinjuku PREMIER, hotel in Ueno

Daiwa Roynet Hotel Nishi-Shinjuku in Tokyo features 4-star accommodations with a shared lounge.

The location was very good and easy to get to the metro/train station. The rooms were clean and spacious given the size of rooms in Japan and they were very quiet. Very nice bathroom layout.

APA Hotel & Resort Nishishinjuku-Gochome-Eki Tower, hotel in Ueno

Set in Tokyo, APA Hotel & Resort Nishishinjuku-Gochome-Eki Tower offers free WiFi. 1.4 mi from Meiji Jingu Shrine, the property is also 1.6 mi away from Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden.

The best thing about the hotel is the location itself and the view... of course;) The hotel is located in the middle of the busiest part of the Shinjuku district and within walking distance of all hot spots, restaurants, and subway stations. The rooms are kinda've small ,so it's better if your luggage is small enough to be carry- on sized. Huge luggage will take up all the walking space in the room. Other than size, the room was very clean and comfortable and well-stocked with amenities. I would definitely recommend!

APA Hotel Asakusa Tawaramachi Ekimae, hotel in Ueno

Conveniently located just a minute away from Tawaramachi subway station, APA Hotel Asakusa Taharamachi Ekimae is a 12-minute walk from Sensoji Temple while the Edo Tokyo Museum is a 10- minutes drive...

For context, I am not super picky when it comes to accommodation. Please keep that in mind as you read. I stayed in the APA Hotel in Tawaramachi for two weeks, and was very happy with what was provided. The room itself was very clean, (I did check somewhat thoroughly) and the bathroom was also nice and clean. I will WARN you though, the rooms area/size is very compact, I did do home workouts in the room everyday and I am not a tall guy but the only place I could fit myself was the hallway leading to the bed. Please keep that in mind before you book. The bathroom is also very compact. I’m not sure how much that would matter to a taller person, but if you are taller please remember that. As for room service, they will clean your room every three days from check in. If you want your room cleaned sooner, you can put a green sticker on the door notifying the cleaning staff. I’m not sure if there is more than one guy doing it, but the one guy that I met doing the cleaning for my room was very nice and although his English was very little he was very nice and patient. (Although to be fair I only didn’t understand him for the first day, I do speak a bit of Japanese so it just took me a minute to register what he was saying.) For a bonus, there is a microwave on the top floor which you can use and a vending machine with water, green tea, coffee and beer. No soft drink or anything like that so if your kid reads theres a vending machine don’t get them too excited lol. I did not try the onsen (public bath) in the building, but it seemed very popular with both foreigners and Japanese guests. The location is also extremely convenient. You have access to the ginza line which is across the street, which can take you to many notable locations (shibuya, ginza, akihabara, ueno, etc) and a couple minutes away are the asakusa line (skytree, and more) and odeo line (shinjuku, and more).
