Courchevel impresses with its exceptional skiing, diverse gourmet dining to world-leading levels, and enjoyable nightlife/apres-ski, perfectly blending outdoor adventure with culinary and leisure pleasures. It is of course at the more expensive end (and the sky's the limit on what you can spend on hotels/food/shopping). Getting around in Courchevel is easy with free buses, affordable parking, and lift connections even at night (1550 to 1850 gondola).

Le Praz (Courchevel 1300) is a lovely Savoie village with...
Le Praz (Courchevel 1300) is a lovely Savoie village with great charm. Although it has grown substantially over the years, it still retains its essential character. The new Alpinium centre, by the pretty lake, is impressive with the fast lift to 1850 and information and ski pass office. There is a chair-lift to the Bouc-blanc area above La Tania, the restaurant at the top makes an excellent stop for breakfast. There is a free bus service during the ski season that links La Tania with Le Praz & the other Courchevel resorts, it also descends to St Bon & Bozel.
Eating in Le Praz presents many options, from the amazing, Michellin-starred Azimut, and the Bistro du Praz offering sophisticated food. A special mention to La Petite Bergerie, which provides traditional Savoyard fare as well as some truly delicious meat courses cooked in front of the open fire. There is also a burger bar, the Elephant bar which serves good pizzas, and the hotel Peupliers and a new related start-up - l'etable de lys.
Le Praz has a couple of sports shops (Olympic Sports having looked after my needs for decades), a well-stocked supermarket, tabac, laundry, Fromagerie, bakery and butchers.

We went for the skiing, have been many times before and would wholeheartedly recommend Courchevel and especially Le Praz. The village has everything you need - restaurants/bars, 8-a-huit supermarket, shops and the most amazing bakery (Pain D'Antan's chocolate eclairs are almost worth the trip alone!).
It's perfectly set up for skiing - close enough to walk to the bubble station from pretty much anywhere in the village (we got a locker so we didn't have to carry heavy kit).
And (not sure if this is a plus or minus) everyone speaks impeccable English. I was trying to practise my French but as soon as I opened my mouth people in the shops and cafes would reply in English!
Nestled in the Alps, the views are utterly spectacular - I spent a good proportion of the trip saying, "Would you look at that?!" because everywhere you turn you behold the most amazing natural beauty. Can't wait to go back again!

The Chabichou Hotel was in an excellent location with ski in ski out. Really good on site ski hire shop. Great breakfast with so much choice and and a very impresive Spa. Courchevel 1850 is one of the best ski resorts with plenty of ski lifts, pistes and restaurants.

Did not visit the Village on this occasion as been many times before and we got all we needed at the hotel. As a ski area it is exceptional, with plenty of variety of type and length of slope and access to other valleys if required.
I booked on booking.com what looked an average room for the average price in the area. What I got, was a full apartment with a room for the kids (wish I had some with me) and a master bedroom. service was impeccable.
Location is great: in Courchevel 1650 (recently renamed Courchevel Moriande), its within max 50 steps from the Ariondaz gondola, with plenty of ski shops around to rent, apres bars to party, and awesome restaurants to try. Actually start with the hotel’s restaurant: it was the most packed in Moriande, and I found out why.
The hotel is good overall. Room is good size and has decent cleaning standards. I think the furniture could be a bit smarter, but is not necessarily bad. Bathroom is good and well maintained. Bed is good. The aquamotion facilities are a very nice addition, but since it is very far away from the rooms, not the place we went the most (once in the week to visit and that was it. I am sure other people make better use of it)- would be good to have a gym or a pool within the premises of the hotel, one lift away rather than a long walk.
The location is amazing, walking distance to many great restaurants, other hotels and la Croisette, a perfect ski in ski out situation, the staff in the ski room is so kind and helpful, the reception is attentive and service is quick. The restaurant Le Café at the hotel is delicious and the breakfast room is beautiful with breathtaking views of the alps. Loved the Spa at Le Chabichou (you have access as a guest since it is a sister property). The hotel overall is pretty and very cozy. Great value for price in courchevel.
The hotel is newly refurbished. It's very clean and the rooms are pretty spacious. The service exceeded my expectations. I can rate it 20/10. The concierge team is so kind and helpful. The receptionists are very kind. The ski room staff are the most attentive and helpful I've ever seen.
The hotel is ski to door. The location is amazing, and 5 minutes by car from the center. What is great is that there is a free hotel shuttle that can take you and bring you from the center anytime.
Overall, the hotel is amazing...
Wonderfully situated. Beautiful location. Out of town, but only 3 minutes by car to village and shops with easy parking. 3-5 minutes walk to piste, ski in ski out.
Appartement clean and spacious. One double room and one room with one single and one double bed.
Kitchen very well equipped with large fridge and plenty of good pots and plates
We went back, having stayed there last year already.
Lake around back worth a visit.
Hosts live in same complex and are super friendly.
Hotel was in a great location, staff were excellent, very helpful and always smiling, making you very welcome. Breakfast was really good, plenty to fill up on for the day ahead. We caught the free bus to Aquamotion for swimming and spa , that was also excellent. Its not cheap in Courchevel but the little French take away across from the hotel was very good value and good price, the hotel was happy for us to take our food in the bar, drinks in the hotel bar are reasonable.
Room, view, room service. Service and staff at spa and ski room & shop were fantastic. The location is perfect when going to ski as ski-in/ski-out option. Don’t take this hotel if you are only interested in walks and visiting the village. There is no way to the village, other than taking the hotel’s on request shuttle (only 1850 Courchevel is served but no other areas) or walking along the car route
- The hotel helped us in booking every restaurant we wanted to dine in.
- All booking for Skiing and instructor was done swiftly.
- Our room was upgraded freely to a spacious room with balcony.
- The staff were really helpful and they will go above and beyond.
- The hotel shuttle toke us to most of our booked restaurants and skiing.
- The room was exceptional, it was clean and neat.
Very good location, walking distance to everywhere.
Comfortable bed.
clean rooms.
The staff makes your stay beyond good they managed to do everything for us.
Worth every $$$.
Among all the hotels I stayed in I didnt receive any services and treatments can be compared to La Saint Joseph!
The rooms were comfortable, warm and most importantly very clean. The staff was cleaning the room and changing towels every day. The location of the hotel was also great. Next to an Intersport where you could rent equipment and just across from the ski lift.
Very good location
Cosy place with all you might need.
The staff is the kindest in all Courchevel. The two persons we met at the reception (gentlemen and a lady another day) were extremely kind and careful.
Was a vey comfortable and nice stay.
LOCATION WAS GREAT SKI IN SKI OUT.
APARTMENT WAS LOVELY,SOUTH FACING BALCONY,SUN ALL DAY.
EVERYTHING WE NEEDED,SLOPES ONE SIDE AND SHOPS BARS RESTURANTS OTHER.
2 LIFTS UP TO OUR 10th FLOOR APART.GREAT VIEWS.
The ski on, ski off location was amazing and the staff was the best at any hotel I’ve ever stayed at. 1650 is a charming village -much better than the more hectic 1850. We had an amazing time and will return!
Brekfast was just okay but did not worth for the money. Hotel’s restaurant was very slow and pricey. Food quality was very bad. Food was always cold and bad quality.
