This is a 3 star hotel and a 3/5 experience. Why:
• we booked two rooms. In the two rooms: toilets, tvs, even the phones weren’t working. tv was broken, showers missing handles.
• the place is old, it’s one of the oldest hotels in Barranquilla. The rooms are small, no nice views or natural light. The bathrooms are old and out dated. TVs are small.
• the decor they post in pictures is there, it’s nice and middle eastern, but it’s only three salons. Good to take pictures in. The rest of the hotel is not as fancy as those 3 salons.
• the pictures they post online make the place look much nicer than it actually is. A lot of the hotel is falling apart and they’re slowly getting it fixed. As we were staying there, there were men on ladders fixing stuff.
• the pool is small, and normal. Nothing extravagant. Like I said, this place is old so don’t expect anything extravagant. The hotel doesent have things like a pool table, common area, or anything else for activities.
• the service is a 3/5. Some of the female waitresses have a terrible attitude, it makes me wonder why on earth they would hire people like that. Costeño women tend to carry these type of distasteful attitudes. The men were far more courteous and with better attitudes.
• the food is a 4/5. I recommend the hot chocolate and chicken empanadas with suero costeño (sour cream) the lunch and dinner was good as well, with cheap prices. The breakfast is really good too, except the buffet. When they have buffet breakfast, don’t even bother going.
• the location is decent. No nice places to walk to for food. You have to take INDRIVER to get to the tourist places and fancy areas like BuenaVista.
In conclusion, I think it might be better to pay $300 dollars more and stay in a different hotel.
