Room was nice, spacious and had a cool view with lots of monkeys.

Uncle Nimal and his wife are really helpful. Friends from overseas visited me here for dinner and our Hosts put on a wonderful dinner for all of us overlooking the valley/mountains. Like others mentioned, the breakfast is incredible and Shan offers the best service with recommendations, transportation and even a tuktuk guided tour. We spent 3 nights and could have stayed longer

We were treated like family by Krishan and Hansi they got us lovely food - breakfast and tea was superb! The room was wonderfull and clearness. I spent a night here and I really enjoy it.it is astonishing the view.

Salinga and his family were charming. We were treated like extra special house guests from the moment we were collected from Ella station to when Salinga drove us 4 hours to our next destination in Mirissa. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful and on the second night we were offered the chance to eat home made rice and curry. The room is spacious albeit basic (no toiletries, but provided when we said we hadn't bought any with us). But it is comfortable and provides everything you need. What is the stand out is the outside space, the verandah overlooking the mountains and waterfall. Sitting there for breakfast and dinner watching the abundant wildlife, so beautiful. We even woke up early to witness the sunrise from the roof of the property. During our stay Salinga recommended a Tuk Tuk driver who was constantly available if we needed to be taken to the town, or for a day's sightseeing in the area. Although Wood Heart is set on the side of the mountain (there are many steps down/up to the property, so beware if you aren't too mobile) it is still possible to walk to and from the town in about 10 minutes along the railway line, an experience in itself. As I said the family went out of their way to make you feel welcome and we're the ultimate hosts. Salinga even arranged for someone to take us from our hotel in Mirissa to Colombo airport with a sightseeing stop in Galle. Wood Heart is like an oasis of calm in paradise. Try and visit if you can, they are currently extending the property upwards to provide 2 extra rooms, perfect for extended families or a group of friends.

I went there with my husband for my birthday celebration I should say We loved everything was there Foods are so delicious also it had separate kitchen to cook ourself too. It waa a comfortable bed no disterbance & mostly i like clean bathroom with hot water I could upload my all photoa to my face book due to good wifi connection Remarcable hospitality .... That uncle is a good person He served whatever we wanted during that two days... Excellent place to stay .....with beutiful scenery highway recomanded for couple
