Samarkand is a city rich with history, where every site has a story. The main attractions like Registan Square are stunning, and the local food is delicious. People here are very friendly and welcoming. I also found the city to be very safe. It's a great place that feels both ancient and welcoming.

Registan square is quite beautiful and a must visit place in Uzbekistan. In terms of food, there are very less options for Vegetarian food but have 2-3 good Indian restaurant where one can find some good Indian Veg food. Cabs are also very cheap here to roam around the city.

There are a lot to see in Samarkand given the fact that it's one of the most important cities in the silk road history. Don't miss the light show in the Registan Square. I didn't expect there are so many tress in the city given the fact that it's a landlock country here. Flowers blossom everywhere in spring. I am fascinated by the food here.

nice place, nice people, very friendly athmosphere.
nice place, nice people, very friendly athmosphere. The mausoleums, madrassas and musea (don't forget the museum at the mediaval city ruins) are truly remarkable. Don't forget to visit the university quarter (and the Theatre of historical costume «El merosi» and it's coffee bar).
A continuous struggle and ripping off by taxi drivers, so be informed of what you are supposed to pay. Perfect point to move on by train to Bukhara. Samarkand is a grand destination.
The location couldn’t have been better! The view from the room and the roof terrace over The Registan was stunning: it’s probably the best located hotel I’ve stayed in. The staff at the hotel were so friendly: they knew everything about the major tourist sites of Samarkand but also pointed out some brilliant things that were a bit off the beaten track - and were excellent at arranging taxis etc. The room was super comfortable and breakfast was the best I had in Uzbekistan. I really can’t recommend Hotel Minor enough.
I absolutely loved my stay in the beautiful and stylish hotel. The breakfast buffet was the most elaborate and delicious one I encountered on my entire trip to Uzbekistan and a fierce competitor to other buffets I have enjoyed in many hotel restaurants around the world. The location is fine, close to many restaurants and parks. A walk to the major historical sites is a bit longer (about 25 min), but you'll walk along a leafy boulevard and it is easy to get there. I do recommend staying here!
A superb quiet location while only a few minutes walk from Registan Square. Excellent welcome and brilliant breakfast. Really cosy beds and massive room. Really impressive and great for families.
Went on a 4hr walking tour through the hotel and enjoyed it very much. We certainly got a lot in and it was good to learn more about local views on their own country and abroad. Uzbekistan is going to become a mainstream tourist option soon - book now while it's still quiet.
1. One of the best hotel that we have visited during your stay in Uzbekistan.
2. Extremely friendly and polite Staff.
3. Fresh made breakfast just for us.
4. Hotel Staff helped us to park the car in a right secured place.
5. Hotel is well hotel decored.
6. Very good location.
7. Well working WIFI.
8. Very good restaurant with exelent service is located in the Hotel - great shashlik!
9. Possibily to pay by credit card.
I hope I could be back to this place again!
Am amazing experience from start to end. Got picked up from the station by the owner, they had a room ready even though I got there before 11 am. Comfiest beds and quietest, spotless room in Uzbekistan (I second the person who said it's got the feel of a cheap Japanese business hotel, design wise XD). The breakfast was more than ample and the entire family very warm and welcoming. Location 5 minutes from Registan, what else can you ask for?
- This is more like a guest house rather than a hotel. A family basically runs this place and they are very welcoming and nice hosts. They usually sit in the shop next to the hotel.
- The best thing about this place is the location. It is in the heart of the main tourist area.
- The room has an AC which for me was very useful as it was quite hot in Samarkand.
- Some nice restaurants right very close to the hotel.
Excellent hotel. In city center. Great staff including Nigora and Ildor, both helpful. Beautiful decor including traditional Uzbek display with clothing and haystacks in hallways. Near supermarket, one block away. Outstanding restaurant about a 8 - 10 minute walk away. Heat, wifi, and elevator worked. Comfortable bed. City view. Highly recommended. Would definitely stay there again if return to Samarkand.
Our group had a wonderful stay in Samarkand at the Diplomat Premium Hotel. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was wonderful. They even allowed us to keep our baggage somewhere until our train later that evening so we could enjoy the city luggage-free. We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to stay here and it was right across the street from Registan Square!
Hotel Vazira is located right next to the Amir Temur mausoleum. In the evening, we were admiring the mausoleum in beautiful lights. Overall, the hotel is fantastically located, 15 minutes away on foot from the Registan Square.
The owners were great, and the room was very comfortable. It came with all needed amenities!
We highly recommend Hotel Vazira for any stays in Samarkand.
All major Samarkand attractions (Registan, Bibi Khanym, Shah-i-zinda, etc.) are walking distance from the hotel. Great breakfast with lots of options. A couple of nice restaurants nearby. The street is closed for cars and general traffic, so it was peaceful. One of the best pillows I've ever seen anywhere!! I almost bought one from them, but too bad I couldn't pack it in my luggage.
we stayed in this hotel Only for one night before our flight - but i kid you not - this was the nicest place we stayed in Uzbekistan. Very friendly staff, beautiful hotel and rooms, welcoming SPA area. They even prepared for us little lunch box because we were leaving very early in the morning for the airport, so we could have our breakfast :)
One of the best hotels I’ve stayed at in Uzbekistan. Great attention to detail (each room is named after a historical character and there are antique pieces of furniture and clothing dotted stour the property) and excellent customer service set this place apart. The breakfast was really rich with a lot of choice and great coffee.
I stayed at this hotel twice during my trip in Uzbekistan and it was awesome.
Although I arrived at the hotel late without sharing arriving time due to lack of internet connection, staff welcomed me and supported my trip in Samarkand very much.
Everything (location, room, facility, breakfast) was perfect for my stay.
This small hotel is within short walking distance from Amir Temur Mausoleum. The family run the place has big rooms with excellent and 100% working facilities. The staff was super helpful and the breakfast was good. Next time in Samarkand, this will be my first choice.
Everything was perfect 7star hotel with Great staff specially Mari Lia she’s really best hotel staff ever had been met,, she’s very supportive and cooperative and gave us a great recommendation about Samarkand ,, really recommend this hotel for best relaxation
The family - a grand mother Maya and one of her grand sons - Shahram very kind. She offered me few vegetarian meals. Guests can use the kitchen - for me essencial on traveling, specially in Uzbekistan full of kebabs.
Very pleasant staff and even when light was switched in all region (it sometimes happen in Uzbekistan) they did everything, wifi, light and etc for I feel comfortable.
