nice place, nice people, very friendly athmosphere.
nice place, nice people, very friendly athmosphere. The mausoleums, madrassas and musea (don't forget the museum at the mediaval city ruins) are truly remarkable. Don't forget to visit the university quarter (and the Theatre of historical costume «El merosi» and it's coffee bar).
A continuous struggle and ripping off by taxi drivers, so be informed of what you are supposed to pay. Perfect point to move on by train to Bukhara. Samarkand is a grand destination.

Izumrud Palace is the kind of small, family run enterprise that deserves our support. Room was clean and spotless, newly refurbished and everything was in great working order. Bed was very comfortable. AC/Heater worked really well. Smart TV. Breakfast was simple yet complete—with a great supply of varying Uzbekistan pastries. Bathroom even had a heated floor. Balcony had a nice view to the street—but was able to keep away noise because its double paned.
It’s a stone throw away from the Registan—a quick 5 minute cab ride away. Cabs can be easily hailed with the Yandex app—no need to haggle a price and generally fares were priced well. Airport is about 20minutes away and the train station is 15.

Beautiful and clean city, rich in history, delicious food, super affordable, friendly and nice people despite the language barrier.
Main issue was toilet, there are not enough toilets around and not all restaurants have toilets.
Public toilets cost 2000-3000 som and it is dirty.
Better book taxi thru yandex app rather than hailing a cab as drivers charge more.

Amazing city with great vibes.
Amazing city with great vibes.
I like it more than Tashkent, and I believe it worth visiting again. One of the best stays is in Continental Hotel Samarkand, a very nice hotel with great location, also a restaurant called Oasiz, it’s more international cuisines but very tasty and clean.
It was so cold at night, and locals advised ti visit the city between February and may. Also I was fully dependent on Yandex in finding rides with a good rates, and also for food delivery.

One of the underrated and lesser known travel destination,...
One of the underrated and lesser known travel destination, which should be in everyone's checklist. Samarkand and Bukhara oozes history and is full of magnificent mosques, madrassas and mausoleums. Both the cities are easy to walk around and the people are very helpful (and will take effort to answer and guide you, even though they do not speak fluent English). Though Uzbekistan is a major meat-eating country, I did not find it difficult to get good vegetarian food. Do try the Samsa (either the Pumpkin / Potato ones) and the Pulav (again you can get the vegetarian version).
Places one should not miss out
Samarkand - Registan Square, Gur-e-Amir, Bibi Khanum mosque and Shah-i-zinda
Bukhara - Po-i-Kalon ensemble, Bukhara Ark / Fort, Lyabi Hauz ensemble, Chor Minor & Boloi Hauz Mosque
Ensure you also re-visit Registan Square (in Samarkand) and Kalon Minaret (in Bukhara) in the night under lights.
- Motorbikes could be safely parked in the courtyard, great!

- Great location, 10 mins walk to Bazaar and Registan
- very good breakfast, prepared with love
- Room was made every day, otherwise I have not experienced in Uzbekistan
- very friendly landlady and staff
- Card payment possible (additional fees apply!)
- good WiFi
- Seating possibility in the room with 2 chairs and a small table
- Seating in the small courtyard
We stayed in 5 different places over our stay in Uzbekistan, but no question, this was the top notch of all of them. Really, everything was beyond our expectation. Just three of the highlights: an excellent enterieur – the atmosphere of the hotel is gorgeous; the breakfast was top class; the staff very kind and helpful, but we have to highlight Vlad's extraordinary support and guidance we received from him! Well done, highly recommended place!
This little gem exceeded my expectations. The breakfast room was a beautiful, historic space, but the comfortable guest rooms appeared to be brand new and spotless. The hosts were exceptionally accommodating and anxious to ensure we had the best possible stay. It is very well situated in the old city, between the Registan and the Shah-i-zinda complex and walkable to either. Wi-fi strength was above-average for Uzbekistan.
The room was amazing, everything looks super-new and with good materials, it's just gorgeous.
Everything is very spaceous and clean, it feels really comfortable, it was the best hotel we stayed in Uzbekistan.
The staff from Negen Group was great and friendly, they speak fluent english which was very helpful for us.
They also have a spa with pool and sauna and the breakfast at the rooftop is also very nice.
This hotel is very clean and modern. Fantastic location in the city, we were able to walk to all of the sites from the hotel. Our hotel room was very nice and spacious. The absolute best free breakfast we’ve had during our stay in Uzbekistan - they have you place an order for some hot food they will cook up for you (we chose fried eggs and oatmeal) along with a HUGE spread of other foods just for you.
All major Samarkand attractions (Registan, Bibi Khanym, Shah-i-zinda, etc.) are walking distance from the hotel. Great breakfast with lots of options. A couple of nice restaurants nearby. The street is closed for cars and general traffic, so it was peaceful. One of the best pillows I've ever seen anywhere!! I almost bought one from them, but too bad I couldn't pack it in my luggage.
Everything!
Best host in uzbekistan👍 five star to hospitality, the host is very kind, humble and decent man! Helps you with everything possible..if you are coming to samarkand just book this hostel without any second thought! Everything was perfect! Breakfast was included in booking ! But the host was kind enough to free complimentry breakfast which was very tasty✨
Located in a residential area, just a few-minute walk from Registan Square.
The contact person/manager Sherzod was helpful for me with everything. Before I had started the trip to Uzbekistan, he notified me about traffic restrictions in Samarkand that would affect my itinerary.
Other people at the guest house were also friendly, giving me home-grown grapes every day.
One of the best hotels I’ve stayed at in Uzbekistan. Great attention to detail (each room is named after a historical character and there are antique pieces of furniture and clothing dotted stour the property) and excellent customer service set this place apart. The breakfast was really rich with a lot of choice and great coffee.
I think this is one if the best hotels not in Samarkand but in all Uzbekistan 🇺🇿. The staff is so welcoming and helpful even helped us booking a train to Tashkent , Managing airport transfer to hotel and finally they hosted a new year party for all the guests . Love the vibe and love their energy and attitude .
Everything was perfect 7star hotel with Great staff specially Mari Lia she’s really best hotel staff ever had been met,, she’s very supportive and cooperative and gave us a great recommendation about Samarkand ,, really recommend this hotel for best relaxation
Great stay here. The place is cosy, clean and walkable to the main attractions. They serve a good breakfast in the morning and the staff are amazing. Muhriddin was a great help and took the time to talk myself and get to know more about Uzbekistan.
The best hotel I stayed in Uzbekistan. They provide a pick up services for free. Excellent breakfast and I was not able to test the pool but looks promising. I will come back for sure
Actually everything, especially comparing to the other guesthouses where I was staying in Uzbekistan for the same price. All was clean and working with amazing Manager.
Hotel staff is very helpful, the property is close to Samarkand Congress Center and to city center as well, it was very convenient for me to travel in both directions.
The bathtub was exactly what I needed, the view from the rooftop was amazing. Staff are friendly and one of the best breakfasts I had in Uzbekistan. Good location.
