Don't linger here, treat it as a transport hub, the city has lost what charm it had from the soviet times and is now full of ugly construction plots, soulless glass boxes, and honking cars. Also, the city is craaazily russified, it's just sad to see these bits of colonial rule still doing strong(
Just get out of here as soon as you can and explore the real charm of Uzbekistan elsewhere.

Every person in Tashkent goes out of the way to help you though the language is a barrier. If they see you need help they volunteer and come forward to help. Very friendly and hospitable locals. I would love to visit again for the cleanliness and the friendly attitude of the locals. The local cuisine was great.

It's just like any other big cities that there are museums, markets, monuments etc. I really enjoy the food in Tashkent, yummy and fresh. It's good that many people I encounter get to speak English and that saves my trouble.

We visited Tashkent as part of a private tour, we had overnight stays in Tashkent 3 times during our trip. The city is easy accessible, but don't expect to see a lot of historical (very old monuments or buildings), that is reserved for the other cities. The momument of the waiting mother (2nd worldwar) I found most impressive and I need to compliment the people that designed the set up with the books with all the names of fallen soldiers. Also impeccable maintained and recommend to go and see this impressive memorial.

The weather is different in different cities like Tashkent, Samarghand, and Bukhara. I was going from warm winter jacket and shoes to shirt and sandals in one day; check the weather before heading out and have extra clothing in your day trips. Dollar works well almost everywhere, but make sure to not pay too much for taxi and neg. with taxi drivers. Good food and inexpensive. Bukhara and a local restaurant in Samarghand, my tour guide took me there, with vegetarian options were my favorites. Being vegetarian is not easy in Uzbekistan since their main food ingredient is meat. Very safe country especially for female travelers with friendly people, however, timing is not their priority. Enjoy the hospitality of Uzbekistan.
Soviet legend! Located in the heart of Tashkent, this impressive hotel dominates the central Amir Temur Square. The hotel staff is very helpful and speaks very good English. Everything you need is available in the rooms. Breakfast tastes good and gives you strength for the day. Bar and restaurant on the 17th floor with wonderful views over the city. The hotel is undoubtedly in line with other Eastern Bloc classics such as the Cosmos in Chisinau, the Hotel Leningrad or the Slavija in Belgrade. I can highly recommend it!
The staff was welcoming and helpful to our every request they gave us an umbrella when it was raining
Everything was very clean
Even the budget room was with heated floors
Breakfast was varied and tasty
It is about 15 min from the central area by foot
Nearest restaurant is 1 min away and is great
The lovely staff of musafir hotel made sure our first stop in Uzbekistan was excellent
we highly recommend it to everyone
The location of the hotel is perfect. It’s right between the old city and new city. Churso bazaar is a walking distance as well as Tashkent city park. The hotel has a nice ambiance specially the garden.
Special thanks to Miron and Azad for going an extra mile and took care of us during our stay. They were very friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. They also made sure to accommodate our requests.
The staff and service is great, rooms are nice & spacious, swimming pool is a proper sized pool unlike many other Tashkent hotels of same budget, pool table, table tennis, horse riding on beautiful gigantic horses (free for hotel guests) with an interesting collection of chicken from all over the world, in-house ATM, good food at reasonable prices, lavish buffet breakfast and always available house keeping.
The staff are helpful and able to communicate in English. The room, lobby, toilet and everything were neat and clean. There were complementary toiletries in the bathroom. The bed was large and comfortable. I found their complementary breakfast the best one during my entire Uzbekistan tour. One of the other mentionable positive sides is, the hotel accepts card payment.
this is one of the world’s best Hyatt hotels. The rooms are enormous and finely decorated, the facilities are beautiful, and the restaurant (Sette) and room
service are very high quality. The location is right in the heart of the new city, with Amir Timur Sq and gardens in front (Tashkent is a sprawling city, you will need a taxi to get anywhere).
I came to Tashkent with my family and stayed in Gabrielle International Hotel. Lovely breakfast and very nice hotel service staff, very good location. In addition, Gabrielle Roof restaurant was very amazing in evening time. I strongly recommend Gabrielle Roof restaurant. Moreover, hotel room condition was very nice and clean.
Excellent hotel, staff were friendly and attentive. Hotel is clean and modern. Room was large and bathroom was especially nice. Definitely the best room we had in Uzbekistan! Bed was really comfy and we had a great night's sleep. Breakfast buffet was really good. Would definitely recommend and we would stay again, thanks!
The hotel room is so big, comfortable bed (but little too high), facilities is complete, Location is in the city with plenty of restaurants, cafe and shops nearby, also not far from the train station (only 5000-6000 som by yandex). Breakfast is the best, plenty of choices and delicious in luxury decoration of restaurant.
A very nice hotel even by Hilton standard.
Great view of the city park. Great options for breakfast.
Front desk staff Diyora was very nice and helpful. And thanks for the small gift of fridge magnet, always nicer than buying one.
Facilities are great.
Good vale for money even it's on the expensive side in Tashkent.
Clean and comfortable hotel for 2 nights that I stayed in Tashkent. Staff are very friendly and helpful, booked our cabs to the train station and airport, and helped with leaving our luggage in the hotel. There is a lovely walkway along the river in front of the hotel that I took to the metro and Magic City.
That was the best Intercontinental I ever stayed at, and probably the best experience with hotels ever. The food was great, the personnel was extremely nice and helpful, and the spa and the pool were just top-notch. I could do lap swimming, and relax in a proper sauna after the workout.
The accomodation is great. It is very tiny family hotel. Breakfast and coffee are very good. The singing of the birds in the breakfast place makes happy start of the day. I am very often in tashkent and would say it is the best place to stay.
The staff were accommodating and helpful. Great hotel to stay in Tashkent and close to Chorsu Bazaar and Metro Station. Great breakfast selection.
We got a huge room with city view. They even gave us souvenir when we checkout.
Absolutely amazing Hotel right in the city centre of Tashkent! We love our stay so much!
Choose this place if you need clean, cozy and minimal nordic freshness! Remind me a lot of European best places I've been to!
Tashkent is a large spread out city. The hotel is near Chorsu Bazaar and about 15 mins from the metro. Good sized clean rooms with a good breakfast. Although payment can be done by card the hotel prefers cash.
Even it is located 5-6km from downtown but it is easy to go anywhere by bus and taxi in tashkent
very cheap though. This hotel is clean, nice vibe n there is like a sharing working space.
You probably cannot find a more confortable place to stay in the City. Of course it is a standardized hotel network but still an amazing 5 stars experience.
