My son moved to Vancouver in June. There are beautiful hiking trails and rivers minutes away. Many fun things to do in Portland and restaurants.. I would recommend staying at least three or four days.

Clean city, friendly people.
Clean city, friendly people. The Waterfront is especially lovely with its scenic walk, views, and many restaurants. Downtown and Uptown are easy to navigate and explore. Also, several sites with historic significance, such as Fort Vancouver.

Vancouver, WA is a wonderful community and a great base camp for day trips to the surrounding area. I highly recommend staying in Vancouver. Just don't stay at the Day's Inn by Wyndham. It is a dump.

So much to do in Vancouver.
So much to do in Vancouver. This property is right downtown, but drive a few minutes east, and you're in the country, rolling hills, two-lane roads, farm lands and farm stands, with just-picked produce.
There's a Stuart Anderson's Black Angus in the parking lot. The food is good, with meatless options, and they have happy hour.
The waterfront is about a 15-minute walk, with lovely views of the Columbia River and Oregon across it. There are new shops/restaurants. New high-rise apartment buildings. Plenty of parking. Farmer's Market on wiekends is a must, all organic, clean, healthy foods and products.
Vancouver has a lot of dog parks, really big ones, too!
It's close to Portland, just down I-5. I love the Zoo and Japanese Gardens in Portland, and the river cruises. There are flower fields in springtime that are glorious to see!
For wild swimming, Battleground State Park allows for lake swimming.
Overall excellent experience! The location was great, easy to get to local attractions and the wedding venue which was the reason we were in Vancouver/Portland. Ted and Sallie were great hosts and since we had some extra time they gave suggestions about local attractions. There was always parking available at the rear of the house. They both were interesting to talk with. We were in the Hemingway Room which has a private bath. Ted prepared great breakfasts. We would stay there again.
The location on the waterfront trail was ideal. Lots of choices for dining. The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating.
The rooms were very modern were beautiful floor to ceiling glass windows that if you had a river view would be amazing; we did not, but our view had a rooftop garden which was a nice feature. We were pleasantly surprised at the cost of breakfast, expecting it to be quite high considering the cost of the rooms and found it very reasonable.
Our stay was very comfortable regardless the renovations going on. The hotel is clean and our room was very spacey with fridge, microwave n sofa bed. Staff was very friendly also available any time of day you called for anything. Breakfast was yummy hot scramble, fat sausages, fluffy waffles n so much more. Gas station n Mongolian grill less than a minute walk. It's close to so much more. The mall is a 7 min walk.
I like the fact that the room was nice and warm when I got there not like some hotels that would have everything off just a cut power smells good the furniture is comfortable the sheets are clean the bathtub was please everything was nice and tidy it is also funny how my company would pay for room and not even amount up to the comfort of this hotel great job Red Lion Inn keep up the good work
Location of course; then a great coffee bar inside hotel & a super restaurant & bar ( El Gaucho) rooftop bar really cool but the music was awful.
My main complaint was that the toilets flush like a 747 taking off. You wake up your partner in the night when you flush: & also you can hear the flushes nearby your room.. its pretty bad🥵
Dont know what to do to fix it: but its a big flaw…
Great place for a pause to break our journey to Seattle. Convenient, clean, and very good value for money. Close enough to downtown Vancouver that we could walk to a pub for dinner. Breakfast was not special, but it was great for the price (free). The fitness room is quite small, but adequate for one person to have a decent workout.
It's a cozy Bed&Breakfast run by Sally and Ted in their home. I was warmly welcomed and the two are great hosts, helping out and providing advice wherever they can. In the morning, they provide a delicious home-made breakfast and I really enjoyed the few days that I stayed. If I'm in Vancouver, I would definitely stay here again!
Once we received the room we booked we were content, happy to relax and get on with seeing Vancouver and its surrounding sights. Coming back to a reasonable sized room and sofa to unload from the day. We were too busy to use the gym or pool.
Clean, comfortable room. Convenient location. Friendly staff. Nice amenities. Enjoyed the throw blanket on the bed - I've stayed in so many hotels that had sofas or recliners but NO blanket to snuggle with!
Location is a bonus, right next to the highway entrance, short walk to the water front, park is right across. Room is spacious, clean and the beds are very comfortable.
Breakfast was awesome, staff was very nice! Hotel was in perfect location for what I needed to do for work. Kids loved the pool mall and other stuff was very close.
Beautiful and comfortable room. We used the EV charger as that was a big reason we chose this hotel. Will definitely stay there again when in that area!
