Montrose took in the title as one of the ten "GREAT NEIGHBORHOODS" in the U.S. from the American Planning Association and is nicknamed the “Heart of Houston” as the dynamic community features a rich mix of culture, history, art, and entertainment and is home to indie art galleries and the octagonal Rothko Chapel, featuring huge abstract murals by its namesake artist.
