The town was very cute. But it is a very "sleepytown".
The town was very cute. But it is a very "sleepytown". Everything closes so early including gas stations even on the weekends. So, if you are from the city like me make sure you do everything early including food. Most places close their kitchens between 9-10pm on the weekends.

We chose the self guided tour through Action Tour Guide.
We chose the self guided tour through Action Tour Guide. You pay online prior to your tour, download the app, and when you start at the designated location, the app uses GPS to guide you through a specific tour route.....with narration. VERY inexpensive, but thorough and informative. The 'human' guide prices were exorbitant. The only caution is that there are no restrooms on the tour route. So, in order to use facilities, you must leave the route and return to where you stopped on the tour route. The app doesn't help you find restrooms. In addition, most businesses (including 7 Eleven) would not allow someone to use their restroom. We had to travel back to Sheetz (2-3 miles out of our way) for hassle -free relief.

Gettysburg is a great place to visit.
Gettysburg is a great place to visit. We have been there many times and enjoy our time there. There is not only so much history to explore but the shopping is good too. When visiting, dining at the Dobbin House is a must. Best food in town

Thanksgiving is a great time to visit Gettysburg.
Thanksgiving is a great time to visit Gettysburg. The Thanksgiving buffet at the Gettysburg hotel offered a nice variety of entrees and vegetables. There are no crowds - even groups at the lighting of the Christmas tree were not overwhelming. The lack of leaves make the battlefield easier to view. Although cool, we had several hours or warm, bright sun.

We went to the new visitor center and watched the film, narration was very well done be Morgan Freeman and the diorama was beautifully done. You always learn or see something different each time you visit. Remembrance day was the day we left, the costumes were fascinating.

Gettysburg is very neat, kinda reminds me of Jim Thorpe with all the little shops and historic things. I recommend going in nicer weather to walk around more. Very nice and some of the shops are really neatly priced! I very much enjoyed the candy shop with all the old time candy and neat flavored sodas! Also if you’re looking for a great cheap family friendly place to eat, I suggest the Gettysburg family restaurant!
A perfect location in the center of historic Gettysburg. Taverns, a diner, Starbucks, and unique shopping were all minutes away by foot. We had rented all three rooms at the Inn, and an adjoining townhouse, for a family occasion and were delighted by the well-decorated and comfortable lodging. Parking was either onsite (3 vehicles) or at a close-by garage. We made some of our own history by gathering three brothers, their families and their nieces and nephews from up and down the Eastern seacoast. We will be back.
The Hotel has seperate rooms with doors, great for privacy. Dog friendly was a plus, for a small fee. I also liked that there were no surprise charges on our bill! We enjoyed our stay and will most defintley come back to stay in the future. Perfect location, right next to the outlet mall and a TGI Fridays which was very delicious! About a 4 minute drive to downtown Gettysburg and the battlefield. The complimentary breakfast was pretty good for a "hotel" breakfast. The rooms were very pristine, and had lots of space!
The location is terrific, close to Gettysburg and attractions. Quiet, clean, pleasant staff, easy check-in, so much nicer than a hotel room. The bathroom has a walk-in tiled shower, plenty of light. Separate bedroom from living area. Cute kitchenette with microwave, nice-sized fridge, and coffee maker with coffee packs (filters) provided. Small wooden deck off of kitchen. Lots of open area to explore on the grounds. There is even a large pond with picnic tables and paths to walk around. Beautiful sunsets!
We stayed one night in a recently remodeled room with new bathroom fixtures and a very comfortable bed. the room was clean and even though both adjacent rooms were occupied, we had a very quiet night's sleep. We did not take advantage of all the hotel's amenities (e.g., pool, lounge, breakfast) but they seemed to be pretty nice. There were a lot of exterior maintenance and improvement projects going on. The location was very convenient to Gettysburg attractions.
Everything else! Great atmosphere and decor! Restaurant 1863 was really good and met some new people in the bar. Super clean and staff was so helpful
Came to town to see the Reenactment of The Battle of Gettysburg and the hotel was less than 1.5 miles from the site. Have stayed there before and we'd I'll definitely be staying there again!
It's hard to beat the excellent location of this hotel if you're going to Gettysburg for the battlefield and cemetery. They also have a very good breakfast and the staff was all very nice and accommodating. It was also very convenient to have a refrigerator in the room. The pool is a little small, but it was adequate for us.
We booked a return trip to Gettysburg and also a return trip to this hotel. We stayed there several years ago. It is a solid value for the basics. Don't expect any frills, no breakfast or pool but if you need a quality room it fits the bill. Easy check-in, clean comfortable room, and located near the area attractions.
Very clean, comfortable and great amenities with breakfast although not full still okay. Staff was very helpful and nice. Loved everything except that must eat in your room since breakfast area closed:/ close to everything in Gettysburg. This is our second time in that hotel and would stay there again!
My son and I come to Gettysburg once a year and we love this hotel because we can walk to everything we like to do. The hotel also has great breakfast - coffee service - we love this hotel. Also, like that there is on-site parking.
We love Gettysburg.
everything !!!!!!
extremely well run by superb host. very welcoming, knowledgeable, courteous, helpful. hotel decorated to very high standard, the room is immaculate, bathroom really good too. newspaper on the doormat in the morning , all in all great!
This is an older hotel but well maintained. The room was comfortable and clean. I paid more for this room than nicer rooms at a local competitor but its being closer to downtown Gettysburg may be the reason for that. Overall a good stay.
The room was extremely clean and the staff was awesome. Newer hotel with great amenities. The location was perfect for our trip and plenty to do around the area if you have time to kill. I would absolutely stay here again.
I can not believe this room was so reasonably priced. If i could find a fault with this hotel its a little bit dated. However its not far from town, it is quite clean and welcoming. I would stay here again no issue.
The room was just right for a single person. Quiet, comfortable, easy access to Gettysburg, and surrounding areas. Perkin's breakfast was wonderful, and with the 10% price break, it was very good.
Comfortable, clean room with plenty of hot water for the shower. Conveniently located for trip to Gettysburg National Park. Restaurants within a short drive.
We went from Ohio to Gettysburg for our anniversary. We had an amazing time. Our hotel room was wonderful. Very clean. I would definitely stay there again!!
