So many things to see on day trips from the area: Ephesus, Pamukkale and Hieropolis, Cesme, etc. What's left of old part of town is worth a visit as are the remains of the ancient Greco-Roman town (though a lot is currently closed off). Much of the city by the water is 'new' because of the destruction of the 1922 fire, which is sad. But a great experience overall (even the taxi drivers are nice and honest, and the weather was much better than in Istanbul). Definitely want to go back.

We where on the family vacation so we were easy going!
We where on the family vacation so we were easy going! It was too hot, so we were walking late afternoons and evenings. We were on a good position - The Marriott Hotel, so we manage to se all important sites like the Clock Tower . Kemerlati, Agora, and other places near by as well as to have long walks on the lungomare- there is a promenade along the entire city along the coast, there is a lots of green spaces please where people enjoyed siting, talking,
Are main goal was to se Ephesus site, so-called The Virgin Mary House, Siringe Village - it was magnificent!
In all places were we had a chance or we choose to eat - either in the restaurants on the cost in the city, or in the mall, or in the place like Siringe Village food was delicious!

Unfortunately, my expectations from the city were higher.
Unfortunately, my expectations from the city were higher. I've chosen a wrong area to stay in (Konak) and it was dirty and not safe. The sea was very dirty, not clean city at all with lots of smell
I will highly recommend this host and this Aprtment and will rate it 5 out of 5 stars.
its a nice beautiful apartment with large living and dining room. 3 bedrooms has 3 large king beds. 2 toilets are also a bonus. It has almost everything that you would need in your home. Also has 2 air conditioner one of which is very large and powerful. Free parking and complete privacy.
Location is also good. Host speaks really good English which is very rare in Izmir. She was containable on whatsapp every time we had an issue or a question.
The hotel is nearby the bazaar market. You have to go through a fish market, which made me surprise the first time, but we got used to it. The hotel has an amiable staff. One of the workers, Turker, helped us to plan our two days in Izmir. Make sure you have time to see Virgin Mary’s home, where she lived her last few years. The Ephesus was also unforgettable. Turker was sweet and friendly and even taught us a new game on the Backgammon Board. We had so much fun, even though the weather wasn't the best. Thank you!
The old building of the Central Bank of Turkey, which received a design award in 1950, has been transformed into a luxurious accommodation experience directly facing the renovated pier designed by the famous Gustavo Eiffel and only a few meters away from the waters of the Gulf of Izmir. I was born and raised in this city, never did I feel so engaged in the history of it while sipping my drink. Overall a great stay with attentive staff, easy on the eye design and a lot of comfort.
This accommodation was nice and staff was very pleasant. I am not going find otherwise hotel in Izmir in future, Hyatt Regency is perfect. Note For the hotel guests- make a time for the breakfast one hour is the minimum. The breakfast was amazing. The room is nice very clean comfortable and space. The bed is very comfortable. The water pressure in the shower is good and bathroom is nice too. The room is quiet, you will nothing heard.
The Hotel Service was exceptionally! Rooms very modern and stylish. The first place in turkey where I got fresh pressed orange juice for breakfast. Also, complimentary mini bar. Location is very central and perfect to explore Izmirs old town.
Parking was free of charge and excellently serviced (valet)
The road side room was a little noisy and the restaurant prices are way too high.
All in all a good choice if you visit Izmir.
I lived here for two weeks. This is a great place especially if you are visiting Izmir for the first time. The rooms are cozy and clean. The location is excellent, in the very center of Alsancak, not far from the promenade and the sea.
But the best part is the people who work here. I have not met such kind people for a long time. Very special thanks goes to Erkut. I am very glad that I chose this hotel.
The guy at the Reception (unfortunately I don´t know his name) was very helpful and knows a lot about the city and transportation
Best breakfast in Turkey, we were really surprised by the variety and quality. Amazing selection of olives and cheeses, they even have a beehive with honey
The hotel has a prime location near the Basane metro/rail station and also a short walk to the bazaar in Izmir
Cleanliness, location, view, staff, roof top pool with the view was amazing.
Everything was amazing, I really recommend it.
For us it was really convenient as it is located in the city center, most of the attractions in walking distance. The hotel is located next to the sea and I highly recommend the rooms with sea view. Alsancak district in walking distance.
The room was very nice, clean, good size, very comfortable bed. The view was also very nice. It is next to the metro, so it is very easy to reach anywhere in Izmir. There are many shopping malls within walking distance of the hotel. The breakfast was also very nice, adequate amount of variety. We loved our stay at Ramada Encore.
Well located in the heart of Izmir which made our respective pickups for Pammukale and Ephesus seamless.
Hotel offers great breakfast and the staff was súper helpful in arranging an earlier breakfast for us to take away before the restaurant opened (most pick up for the longer tours are 7am)
Overall would recommend.
The location of the hotel was perfect! So close to Konak pier, Kemeralti Carshi, Izmir Clock Tower, Izmir Kultur Park, Chankaya metro station, bus stations and parks and so many restaurants and shops! The breakfast that hotel offers was unbeliavable. Can't describe the supportive hotel staff!
Great location, clean rooms, many options for breakfast (including juices, cheeses, olives, fruits, vegetables, omelette bar, hot options, breads) - one of the best breakfasts during our stay in Turkey.
We had a wonderful stay at the Smart Hotel & highly recommend for families.
Nice hotel, well located, near to the train station. The staff was very friendly and helping.
Even if the building is not very recent and new, the room was clean.
Will recommend it for depending one or two nights in Izmir.
The hotel is at one of the best Locations in İzmir. The stuff not only is kind and professional but are also understanding. It's breakfast also is great and it is a beautiful place especially for visitors from abroad.
The location of the hotel was excellent and the staff were very accommodating. I would definitely recommend the hotel. They do provide an excellent breakfast 😋 which is better than many hotels in Izmir.
The hotel is very central and located in the heart of the Izmir. close to the public transport. In addition it is very clean. Hotel personal is very helpful especially Dursun. He helped us very much
Wonderful boutique hotel in the heart of the old town in Izmir. Perfectly managed, nice and perfumed rooms, a little strange area , but very calm indeed . Really nice
