Charming and compact Bratislava is the world’s only capital city bordering two countries, Austria and Hungary, and centers around the beautiful Danube River. South is the modern city and a peaceful forest, but the real Bratislava attractions are over Novy Most (New Bridge), an impressive structure with a UFO-like pylon. The castle on a rock overlooking the Old Town offers the best views of it. The rock itself has a Jewish cemetery and a literally underground club.
Across the street, St. Martin’s Cathedral was the coronation site of past Hungarian kings. The cobbled streets behind are lined with outdoor restaurants and bars. The city’s specialty is treska, a cold cod salad, washed down with white wine from the nearby Small Carpathian mountains.
The main square is Hlavne namestie, home to pastel-colored buildings, a 14th-century town hall housing the city museum, and the Bratislava Christmas markets. Hodzovo namestie square features the Peace Earth sculpture and Baroque Grassalkovich Palace, the presidential residence guarded by the Slovak National Guard. Across the park is the Archiepiscopal Palace, seat of the government. All around are many Bratislava hotels, B&Bs and apartments available on Booking.com.
Before heading to Bratislava Airport, visit Kamzìk TV tower, whose revolving restaurant and observation deck offer magnificent city views.
Bratislava is an amazing short getaway. The city is small and very clean. You could go everywhere by foot. The castle is a must place to visit and the view from the castle is amazing. The city has the Danube river with cafes all around. The historic center is gorgeous. In addition, the city has Eurovea, which is a huge department store which offers many options for shopping. Last but not least, the city is very close to Vienna by Flix Bus, so you can visit borth cities in one trip. However, Bratislava as well as Vienna, are expensive cities.

Nothing to really do there.
Nothing to really do there. The bratislava castle is actually a museum. The devin castle is actually just a rock. The people are awful. If you are a tourist, they do what they can to rip you off. No affordable parking spaces.

My first trip to Bratislava took place in 2018 and I must say, the progress they've done for these 6 years is stunning! The city became cleaner, more infrastructure, people seemed to be more friendly! Awesame time spent in this beautiful city!

Absolutely beautiful city!
Absolutely beautiful city! full of beautiful places to eat, drink and be merry. We loved everything there! Totally recommend! Extremely cheap compared to what we are used to as well! An excellent destination that proves that you can have a whale of a time even if you are on a tight budget! very easy to get around, one of the most walkable cities we've ever been to!
Hidden gem: cafe / bar "U centra" just below the Castle.
Extra tip: hop on the Flixbus to visit Vienna for a day for 5euros ticket!

It's not as beautiful as other European cities.
It's not as beautiful as other European cities. The city center is very small and has nothing special. The castle is fine but not worth the visit. The whole city has this Soviet communist vibe that I don't like. If you want to go, one day for your visit is more than enough, I wouldn't spend more than that, go somewhere else. If you are looking for a cheap place to party, this is the right place. The party is good, the beer and the food are good as well.

It was our first time in Slovakia and we absolutely loved it...
It was our first time in Slovakia and we absolutely loved it. We started there before taking the train to Austria, as the connections to the country were amazing.
I would 100% recommend taking the trip out to Hrad Devín from the centre, it's super easy to get to (one bus that is very regular) and if you're ice hockey fanatics like us, you definitely need to get down to the Ondrej Nepela Arena for a HC Slovan Bratislava game. Amazing atmosphere for both home and away fans, cheap beer and a very good game!
We loved the free parking and the location of the apartment. The apartment is very modern, tech-savvy, and clean. We only stayed one night, but the staff was great at checking us in/out. Instructions are clear on how to get the apartment keys, park in the garage, and self-checkout. It has a good Wi-Fi signal, which we always appreciate.
It's right in the old town - a 5-minute walk to the castle and the old town historie center. So, if you need a place to stay to visit Bratislava, I highly recommend City Castle Apartments.
Huge room with a large double bed, super clean & very comfortable.
Bathroom with a decent shower, very clean.
24 hour reception - very helpful staff
Classified as a 'business hotel', so check-in was efficient, good services & nothing to really complain about.
Ok location in relation to the centre of Bratislava. The old town is a circa 10 mins cab journey from the hotel & costs around 8 or 9 euros. Worth doing as I don't think there was much locally to see/do/places to eat.
Airport 10 mins away also.
The location of this apartment was perfect for exploring the Old Town of Bratislava. Getting there from the train station was easy. I arrived early in the day and the hosts gave me access to their storage locker where I kept my luggage until it was time to check in. The apartment is clean, well furnished, tastefully decorated and perfect for relaxing. I especially liked the swing chair on the balcony and the photos showing the renovation of the apartment.
The room was very spacious and the bathroom was large, clean and functional. The shower worked well; the shower doors kept the water in the shower, not allowing it onto the bathroom floor.
The hotel has an outdoor patio, which I liked very much.
The breakfast, although pricey, included a wide variety of foods.
The staff was very nice and offered me all the supplies I asked for.
The hotel is well-located, close the Bratislava Castle and Old Town.
The location was convenient despite not being in the old town of Bratislava, having bus stops opposite the hotel which we made use of. Overall, the hotel had an antique/vintage vibe and decor which added to our experience, yet the rooms were modern and comfortable. The breakfast was good as well, though I would have preferred other more well-known products to be available for selection (such as nutella over the unpleasant chocolate sauce).
Beautiful hotel in the old town of Bratislava. Calm yet central street. Very friendly staff, the check in and checkout were fast and clear.
A room might be slightly outdated (like old telephone and slight ware out in bathroom) but it gives a charm vibe, beautiful decor. The bad and pillows were very comfortable. Nice lighting in the bathroom.
There is enough variety for breakfast, including champagne. The room was always well cleaned.
We really enjoyed staying at this hotel. It has an excellent location on danube river and where you can go to the old town within walking distance. Cleanliness was great. Staff was extremely helpful including their assigned taxi driver. The hotel comes with an indoor pool, sauna and a gym. Breakfast choice was vast and the restaurant cater for lactose and gluten free intolerances.
Excellent location, just a few steps from the city center (old town) where you can do everything on foot. The room is offered with high quality furniture (5 stars for the REAL king size bed 2 x 2 meters). The hotel has an outstanding bar/restaurant and they produce their own beer, as well as there is another bar option with an extensive wine list. Would stay there again.
The location of this hotel for a short stay in Bratislava is unbeatable. Smack in the old town center 1min from square. Parking is in an underground garage across the street, so very convenient. Place has great historic atmosphere, everything was clean and nice, and the staff was great
Perfect for me.
Visiting friends in Petrzalka, so ideal location and decent facilities, at a very good price (compared to downtown Bratislava).
Excellent bus and tram network easily accessible from the hotel, with links to old town, main station and the airport (requires 1 change).
The hotel was very conveniently located, in a nice neighbourhood (but still close to the bus station) and within walking distance of the old town.
The room was very clean, although quite small. Breakfast was good, staff was friendly. I would go back next time I am in Bratislava.
The hotel is located walking distance to Old Town Bratislava, and close to one of the major bus stations. The breakfast was good, and there are coffee shops just across the street. Staff was friendly and very helpful.
The great advantage of Crowne Plaza Bratislava is its location - across the street from the President's Palace on the edge of the Old Town.
The hotel has its own underground parking albeit charging steep rates.
Good location, in the old town and close to some city center and walking distance to bus stations. Sheets clean and comfortable bed and pillow. Decent hotel amenities but not for the value.
Hotel is close to the city centre.
There is a possibilty to park and charge your car for a small additional fee.
Breakfast was good.
TV had netflix, Apple TV+ & Youtube.
A very nice hotel with great service. We loved our stay. :) It is aroun a 20 minute walk away from the old town but still very good. There is also Mall nearby.
Great hotel, clean, modern and cozy room. Loved the design. Staff are really friendly. Close enough to city centre and very easy to reach from airport by bus.
