Charming and compact Bratislava is the world’s only capital city bordering two countries, Austria and Hungary, and centers around the beautiful Danube River. South is the modern city and a peaceful forest, but the real Bratislava attractions are over Novy Most (New Bridge), an impressive structure with a UFO-like pylon. The castle on a rock overlooking the Old Town offers the best views of it. The rock itself has a Jewish cemetery and a literally underground club.
Across the street, St. Martin’s Cathedral was the coronation site of past Hungarian kings. The cobbled streets behind are lined with outdoor restaurants and bars. The city’s specialty is treska, a cold cod salad, washed down with white wine from the nearby Small Carpathian mountains.
The main square is Hlavne namestie, home to pastel-colored buildings, a 14th-century town hall housing the city museum, and the Bratislava Christmas markets. Hodzovo namestie square features the Peace Earth sculpture and Baroque Grassalkovich Palace, the presidential residence guarded by the Slovak National Guard. Across the park is the Archiepiscopal Palace, seat of the government. All around are many Bratislava hotels, B&Bs and apartments available on Booking.com.
Before heading to Bratislava Airport, visit Kamzìk TV tower, whose revolving restaurant and observation deck offer magnificent city views.
The hill top and views of the Danube river ware amazing.
The hill top and views of the Danube river ware amazing. The down is small and perfect for people who enjoy walkable destinations. I definitely didn't like the food. We visited two restaurants but at both places it just wasn't cooked properly. That is not my experience in the neighboring Vienna.

Just spent a few days in Bratislava with some friends.
Just spent a few days in Bratislava with some friends. The old town and Castle are easy to get around. We hired a bike and went across the river where you can cycle the Danube all the way to Germany if you choose. Food was lovely and all delicacies were covered. There are some fantastic shopping centers just off old town with all the brands you'd expect plus some Slovakian ones. Bratislava is definitely a must see.

A Memorable Journey in Bratislava: Embracing Culture and Spirituality
My first venture into Bratislava, Eastern Europe, as a woman of African descent, was met with both excitement and uncertainty. However, the city's warm hospitality exceeded my expectations, enveloping me in kindness throughout my stay.
Bratislava's old town, with its cobblestone streets and historic landmarks like the enchanting Blue Church, offered a captivating glimpse into the city's rich cultural heritage. Amidst this picturesque backdrop, MonDieu café became a cherished retreat, fostering moments of reflection and connection.
Exploring the city's vibrant culture, I was captivated by the soul-stirring melodies of folk music and the bustling atmosphere of outdoor grill places. Yet, it was the genuine warmth of the locals, from hotel staff to taxi drivers, that truly made Bratislava feel like home.
Despite the long train journey from Geneva, Switzerland, every moment in Bratislava was filled with wonder and delight. Moreover, my experience was deepened by attending the Festival ZIVOTA, led by Pastor Adeboye. His profound words and the collective worship experience reminded me of the universality of faith and the beauty of communal worship.
The Festival ZIVOTA not only enriched my spiritual journey but also served as a powerful reminder of the bonds shared among believers, transcending cultural differences. Bratislava's charm, coupled with the spiritual nourishment of the festival, left an enduring impression on my heart, making it a destination I wholeheartedly recommend.

Bratislava is such a beautiful city, so much to see and do.
Bratislava is such a beautiful city, so much to see and do. We visited the transport museum, Bratislava castle, Blue Church, Botanical Gardens and many others. It is so easy to get around the city as transport is exceptional and inexpensive. Lots of bars and cafes offering everything you need or want. I loved it and would love to return

I went to Bratislava for the food, and I was not disappointed.
Unfortunately I chose a holiday period, so many shops were closed and I couldn't stroll around if not for sightseeing, which is highly recommended, and food, again highly recommended.
The botanic garden, the Devin Castle, and the very small pharmacy museum, were the highlight of my experience, and I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a relaxing time in a beautiful city.
Another suggestion is to buy the public transportation ticket for tourists, since it is the best way to move around.

We attended a performance at the Slovak National Theatre, leaving from Vienna and returning the next day. A quick mid-week trip and overnight.
First, the performance was top-notch and was a highlight. But we really appreciated the size of Bratislava. We walked and strolled everywhere, enjoyed some interesting shopping and had a wide choice of places to eat (including traditional Slovakian food, but also Mexican tapas or Thai food).
We've already done the basic bus tour, which is recommended. You see the town, hear a history, and visit the castle.
Our next trip will include some of the special events: particularly wine-tasting or beer-tasting.
Bratislava has a good mix of cultural options, interesting restaurants, and a beautiful downtown. Prices (compared to Vienna, for example) make this a bargain.
We loved the free parking and the location of the apartment. The apartment is very modern, tech-savvy, and clean. We only stayed one night, but the staff was great at checking us in/out. Instructions are clear on how to get the apartment keys, park in the garage, and self-checkout. It has a good Wi-Fi signal, which we always appreciate.
It's right in the old town - a 5-minute walk to the castle and the old town historie center. So, if you need a place to stay to visit Bratislava, I highly recommend City Castle Apartments.
I spent two days in Bratislava and have decided to stay in Loft Hotel. It was a very good decision because this hotel has exceeded my expectations. The room was really spacious and stylish. Free minibar was really nice compliment. Also, it's essential to mention the breakfast - very good choice of dishes and drinks. The Hotel is placed at the center between the main station and old down. This fact makes my staying better as well because it was easy to go to Bratislavskiy Grad, old town etc.
Beautiful hotel in the old town of Bratislava. Calm yet central street. Very friendly staff, the check in and checkout were fast and clear.
A room might be slightly outdated (like old telephone and slight ware out in bathroom) but it gives a charm vibe, beautiful decor. The bad and pillows were very comfortable. Nice lighting in the bathroom.
There is enough variety for breakfast, including champagne. The room was always well cleaned.
No problem for the hotel to meet my request for a room with a view (on the 5th floor with a view of "Bratislava skyline"). The room meets the usual business standards. The breakfast offer was good, including the usual choice of hot drinks and a cold and warm buffet. Wifi worked flawlessly, parking for 10 euros per day. The location is close to the old town (15 minutes walk). The shopping mall Eurovea is worth paying the visit.
that was my second stay in Sheraton Bratislava … fantastic location .. helpful staff .. so quiet
shopping mall beside .. old town 10 min walk
super hotel
big greeting to the staff coz I forgot my my cash and passport in the safe and they sent me an e-mail and I retuned back to receive my things back .
thank you very much Sheraton staff .
It's in the middle of the old town/city centre. Just outside of the hostel you'll find lots of restaurants, bars, cafes etc. That makes it very convenient for exploring Bratislava when there is not much time. Also the kitchen was neat and the coffee machine was free of charge. Everything else was pretty clean as well.
The hotel is very clean and tidy located in the historic old town in Bratislava. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was a good size with a comfortable bed and good sized bathroom. There is just a short walk to the nearest shop and many restaurants. I will definitely stay here again!
The hotel was lovely and the rooms were really clean. Decent sized room, massive bed and good shower. The hotel itself is about a 30 minute walk away from the old town however; there’s a shop and bar right outside and the walk gives u a change to see more of Bratislava. I’d 100% come back again
Great location (in the "heart" of city centre / Old Town)
Spacey living room
Large couch
Smart TV (could be bigger though)
2 proper private bedrooms
1 bedroom in a living room
2 bathrooms (1 downstairs, one upstairs)
Pretty quiet for an apartment in city centre
Perfect location for exploring Bratislava! The hotel is located directly at the edge of Bratislava old town.
The rooms are really big and well equipped. It was possible to cook and to store food in a fridge and freezer. There are also cute common areas.
I would give it 5 stars. Of the 7 or 8 hotels we stayed at in Europe, Devin was the best. The breakfast was exceptional as was the staff. It is located right on the Danube a short walk to the old town. Bratislava is a hidden gem, clean and vibrant.
The hotel is very beautiful with a very good restaurant for a really wonderful breakfast buffet (with champagne!)
The location on the river walk next to the Danube is a 15 walk to charming old town with many lovely restaurants and shops.
The hotel is located close to the Bus Terminal (MOST SNP) and to the old town of Bratislava (perfectly for a weekend trip). The Saunas in the SPA area are nice. The breakfast had a good selection. The personnel were friendly.
Great location and smart rooms in a hotel with character located on one of the town passages in the old town in Bratislava. Nice simple continental breakfast. Friendly staff.
The hotel has a perfect location - right in the old town of Bratislava. The rooms were spacious and clean. I expected a little bit more choice for breakfast but it was ok.
