I know Olhao as a cheap and quit place but not anymore, its too noisy and expensive for us so unfortunately our next trip will be somewhere else. For children there is not so much to do. Its an excellent place for the eldery because of the shops, the bars, the restaurants and the boats to the beach. Eveything is easy to reach by car, bus, train, boat or taxi. You have to be carefull for sunburn. Especially at the beach. I dont burn easily but even early in April I got burned so much it hurts. Be carefull! Also please dont swimm, the water is *** cold and we experienced first hand the tide can take you away from the beach,.

We loved the characterful traditional Olhao house. It was beautifully decorated with lots of arty details. The weather to start was not good which limited our use of the top terrace or outside. The beds were some of the most comfortable we’ve ever experienced in a holiday let. The main bedroom is beautiful with a gorgeous ceiling as in the sitting area. There is a big fridge freezer making shopping easy. The town itself is relatively unspoilt, very traditional and charming. There are loads of restaurants and fab static fish and veg markets. There are two Marinas one in the town near the ferries to the beaches and the other new marina development the other end of town. The sea front is beautifully landscaped and you can watch the boats coming in and out; a hive of activity. The local train allows the opportunity of travelling to other gorgeous towns/villages along the coast from Portimao to Faro to Olhao , Tavira and beyond. We will be back.

Very nice charming old town with smaal streets en lively marketplace at the seaside. Saturday farmers market is must see. Lots of all kind of restaurants with good food and friendly prices. Restaurant O Bote - family owned restaurant with tasty grilled food and authentic atmosphere, Restaurant Galo Barreta, good food, good service and best white Sangria ever.

We u5ed to travel to Olhao every winter for at lea5t a month, but for the pa5t five year5 have gone el5ewhere. Thi5 year it wa5 the perfect place to 5pend our la5t of 10 week5 away and we were delighted to 5ee and experience all of new development of the waterfront/marina and main avenida area5. Olhao ha5 lot5 to offer, from great re5taurant5, unique 5hopping, fanta5tic market area and the ferry to the i5land5 i5 a MU5T. We e5pecially recommend taking the ferry to Farol or Culatra, then walking the beach/5and dune5 to the other community [take5 about 40 minute5]. It'5 5tunning and a unique experience. Ea5y local train will take you to other communite5 along the Algarve for tho5e without a car who wi5h to explore the 5urrounding communitie5.

Great City, much nicer than Faro or Albufeira. Some great restaurants, perfect location to drive with your car somewhere. The city is also clean, despite all the beggars coming to you while have a drink or while eating, that's can be irritating at some point.UlrichBelgium - 10Scored 10

A beautiful old town on the edge of Faro, easily accessible by bus and train from the airport. Or a reasonable and quick Uber ride. The traditional properties in the town centre are beautiful and the promenade is wonderful. Well kept, clean with great facilities including outdoor exercise equipment and sun loungers. I saw the Saturday market and bought a lot of beautiful produce, it was a delight. The access to the islands is a bonus. Loved it all apart from my noisy Airbnb and ride old men calling me Puta for no reason haha... I can handle that.. silly men. Gelato place on promenade is 👌 Seafood is 👌KatyUnited Kingdom

The rooms were huge, there was 8 of us and not once did we feel cramped. Everything is clean, the staff are lovely and attentive. We genuinely have nothing bad at all to say about Villas Marim, this is far beyond a hotel. Two nice restaurants next door (walking distance) Aldi is a 6 minute drive away and Olhao is a 9 minute drive away. The lovely Tavira is 25 minute drive away. Highly recommended staying here.

Breakfast is great and served by the fabulous pool Greta location in Olhao, 5 min walk to the boats for the islands and beaches I loved my room. It was a ´little one’ but I though it was very spacious, great air con, great bed, super super clean Thank you!!!

Changing of the towels and cleaning service every 2 to 3 days. Lovely breakfast on the outside terrace. The small but great swimming pool is a good refreshment after a day of discovering the environment of Olhao. Olhao is a great spot to go to Faro, Tavira and a lot of other small Algarvian villages. Thanks a lot to the very friendly host.
