A typical seaside town that quietens down after the season.
A typical seaside town that quietens down after the season. We visited in February so almost everything was closed. It was lovely because there were no tourists and you could easily find a place in a restaurant (although it wasn't that easy to find an open restaurant). The center still has the feel of an old-type fishing village with tiny cute white and blue houses, but you can see and feel the pressure of the modern beach town which is just behind the old city center. Great beaches and amazing cliffs add to the attractiveness of Porto Covo both in winter and in summer.

Gorgeous spot to visit if you want to stear away from big crowds. Views are breathtaking with a bunch of beaches connected by caves and grottos. There really isn't much else there. A small little village with some eating facilities and a small supermarket. It's a perfect spot for one day and night. The fact that you can park your car wherever you please is also very nice.

Great location for beach goers, with multiple pristine, gorgeous coves in close walking proximity.
Friendly staff; we were upgraded to an ocean front view room and they were able to accommodate our request for a late checkout, last day of our trip so we were able to enjoy the beach before our long flight home.
Breakfast (included) was plentiful and offered many options.
Our trip included stays at 5 hotels, this was the only one that actually had a stocked mini fridge.

Porto Covo is an attractive little town with a small fishing harbour. The Main Street has a lot of very touristy shops. A fair choice of restaurants to eat in but nothing special. It was easy to get to using the very efficient Portuguese bus service and a good place to start walking the Rota Vicentina.

Beautiful little town. Nice restaurant.
Beautiful little town. Nice restaurant. Lovely little local fish and fruit market open in the mornings only. No main supermarket that I could see, only small local ones. But a beautiful beach and cove.

Sweet town, but very touristy feeling.
Sweet town, but very touristy feeling. Tour buses dropping people in, and the restaurants felt geared for tourists too. (though check out the pizza place in the main street, excellent).
Great view from the coastline but not a swimmable beach. Really central to some great day trips, but I think there are better towns in the area for a longer stay.
Check out the horseriding nearby, excellent.
I stayed only for one night but just loved the place! such an amazing and calm at the same time .... yoga&surf vibes both I love so much so just perfect fit ..... the breakfest was absolutely amazing made with love ..... beautiful small cute terrace and lovely garden where you can just sit and breathe ..... you feel the care for nature and sustainability ....very kind, friendly owner ... definitely coming back when I plan to stay again in this part of Portugal ..... highly recommended!
The house is very rustic and very quiet. The garden view from the room is beautiful. The kitchen is well equipped and the house is very clean.
There is a bit of a distance between the house and Porto Covo but the owners offered to give as a ride when we wanted to go. We preferred going by bike and they gracefully lend us their bikes.
They also picked us up from the bus station in Porto Covo and gave as a ride to town when we left. They were very kind and considerate.
This accommodation was just the best thing! The apartment was huge, it had its own kitchen, bathroom, living room and even patio where one could grill fish or anything else. Porto Covo is a small town, so everything was within walking distance - 5 min walk to the town's market with fresh food, 5 min to restaurants and shops and even the beach was just as near! I loved the stay here so much, I almost weeped when I had to leave 😂
This is the perfect place to stay before starting a walk on the Rota Vicentina. The host, Nicolau, is so knowledgeable about the trail and will give you tips, advice, shows you a map and points out the things to look out for along the way. The hostel is clean, safe, right in town and had everything I needed. Thank you for a great start to my walk!
The space had a lot of light and was breezy. The shower was small but had plenty of hot water. The host was helpful and welcoming. The kitchen was fantastic with lots of helpful items. The large back patio space was nice for eating, hanging towel to dry, and hosing off sandy feet!
Brand new hotel, you can literally smell it.
There was an incident at the breakfast, but it was addressed to the director, and sure enough, the next morning they made sure it was properly corrected .
That for us was a very positive sign
Very friendly staff. Location is perfect .
Place was located in the center, near the ocean. Bright room with big window, well-kept comfortable bathroom. Very comfortable bed. In few minutes walk you can be on very beautiful beaches od Porto Covo ;o The closest one is like 5 minutes from the apartment.
The location is phenomenal. It has a rooftop bar with 180° coastal view with lighthouse. The bunkbed was comfortable plenty of storage space for luggage and valuables with a lock for each bed. I did not want to leave.
The space was clean, organized and beautifully designed. The staff was very friendly and made our stay very enjoyable. We loved the fresh squeezed orange juice with breakfast and the views from our private deck.
Location in Porto Covo, right at the beach and close to the main walking street. Excellent breakfast, with good choice and food quality. Right at the start of the Fisherman's Trail. Comfortable bed.
Nice location, clean and warm welcome even though we arrived quite late. We Also arrived with the train in Funcheira and Nicholau was really nice to help us to arrange the transfer to Porto Covo!
Very spacious and comfortable house with great location in quiet area and only 10 minutes to the beach. Spacious rooms with comfortable beds, only missing fitted wardrobes on 2 of the rooms.
close to beach front walk and beaches. close to town centre. comfortable room. window/balcony looking over pool and to open sky beautiful. Gorgeous home. very kind and accommodating host.
Great hospitality and very nice hotel. Comfortable room and terrific pool! Very helpful with storing luggage and providing information on hiking Fisherman’s Trail. Will return for sure!
Very nice flat with lots of space in the kitchen and living room. The outside area is also pretty spacious with a fireplace to bbq. Everything was clean.
