Aviero is beautiful. The town centre has amazing Portuguese style buildings, the streeets are very clean, it is all very walkable and the gondola trips are very reasonably priced and leave from the canal in the central area. These tours are in multiple languages, so suitable for everyone. The local restaurants have all types of great food at very reasonable prices and local supermarkets and shops are really good value. People are friendly and helpful. Loved our stay there.

Lots of tourists in Aveiro at the weekend, many on the moliceiro boat trips along the canal. Lovely way to sightsee if weather is good - it was quite hot before Easter but with a cooling breeze. The multi-lingual guide on the moliceiro gave detailed and interesting information about Aveiro, especially the Art Nouveau and Art Deco buildings as well as the stunning modern architecture. Also the fishing history of Aveiro was explained well.
Lovely walks alongside the canal from MELIA hotel, quiet and very little traffic until you arrive in the centre. On Sundays many market stalls selling numerous antiques along both sides of canal.
Back street walks are full of interesting surprises, traditional tiled buildings, sculptures, cafes, restaurants and bars. Very easy to walk around and explore or cycle on numerous dedicated cycle paths. Also excellent S Joana museum and art gallery in centre.
Good place for a long weekend or even a week if you also want to get out of centre to the beaches.

Aveiro is a charming city with fantastic food and friendly people.
We are moving there, that is how much we like it. It is much cleaner and quieter than Porto (where we have lived for the past 3 years.)
There is lots to do, shopping, eating, sites, boat rides, museums, to name a few.
There are lovely cities nearby as well. Ovar, Costa Nova, Águeda and Ílhavo. As well as Coimbra.
It has a great central location 2 hrs from Lisbon and less than an hour from Porto.

Aveiro is a beautiful city overall, my favourite place is the Ria of Aveiro wit his colourful boats and the Barra's beach with his colorful wood-houses as well.
I ate in a restaurant near the shopping centre Forum. I've rent a car from Lisbon to get around so I didn't need a public transport but there's a bicycle in the city to rent to get around which is very useful.
You have to go to a restaurant on time between 12-15 otherwise it won't be easy to find a place that open till late for lunch.
I like traditional restaurants around the city instead of the fast food ones. In Portugal the food is amazing!

I regret not being able to explore the city thoroughly during my visit. Nonetheless, I had a delightful evening at a local pub, which turned out to be a truly enjoyable experience. The people in the city are remarkably warm and friendly, adding to the overall positive impression of my brief stay.

Seeing pictures and videos of Aveiro was excepting more then what I saw. Those who say Aveiro is Portugal's Venice they must not been in Venice. For us it was waste of time to stay overnight. Maybe it was due to construction that was going around the city center. I was very disappointed. I wouldn’t recommend staying overnight. Maybe quick stop on your way.
Modern apartment in a well maintained newer building. The apartment is extremely clean and comfortable. Dulce and Helder are lovely welcoming people. Dulce met us at the apartment and spent time showing us around. We had a small problem and Helder came to assist within 20 minutes. We enjoyed Aveiro, the apartment is within walking distance of many sights, restaurants and shops. Supermarket downstairs is a great convenience and the daily market is close. Thanks Dulce and Helder.
Fantastic hotel, close to many bars, restaurants, and supermarkets, in Aveiro center.
The room is very big and clean, the bed is very comfortable, Wifi connection is very good, and the room
has a very nice and clean bathroom.
The staff are very communicative and nice, super friendly, and were always attentive and asked if I needed any help
with anything. I really felt at home :)
I loved this place !!! I will come back for sure when I am back to Aveiro.
Very good location. Check-in was quick and efficient which was good because parking outside was challenging. There was some construction and we had to double-park while we ran in to get checked in. The hotel does offer (for 10 euro) parking with in/out privileges at a shopping center parking garage just across the canal that runs in front of the hotel. It's very convenient.
Staff was very friendly and professional.
The included breakfast was good.
This hotel easily became my home away from home. I came once before and didn't want to leave. Now, it has become my 1st choice of hotels in Aveiro. The hotel is traditionally beautiful on the outside and modern on the inside with a courtyard and fish pond. About 10 minutes to the bus and 5 minutes to train stations, walking distance to the forum, and many restaurants . The staff were excellent, 10 out of 10.
The hotel has a convenient location near the train statios. Its rooms are spacious and adequately clean.
The gesture of providing Ovos molles de Aveiro as a welcome gift in the room was a nice display of hospitality.

This hotel is about a 10-12min walk from the riverwalk at the city center, mall, restaurants and boat rides. The hotel offers amenities such as a pool table and a nice terrace. Buffet is great, rooms are spotless and comfortable and the staff couldn’t be friendlier, even handing me a map with directions to the city center before I asked.
Excellent location! We could see the main touristic sites on foot, and they are well worth it. We were well received, the staff was very nice. Impecable cleaning. We've also won a very good discount, courtesy of our accommodation, for a Moliceiro Tour in the Ria de Aveiro wich we loved and totally recomend. Lovely city!
The hotel is extremely well located - at the centre of all attractions. The facilities were good and met expectations. All staff was very friednly and helpeful as well. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would come back if we're ever in Aveiro again.
Spacious, comfortable and clean bedroom. Good localization, near to the historical center of Aveiro. There is a free parking behind the hotel and a good place to have breakfast just across the street. Easy self check in.
This is a unique experience… sleeping in a boat in Portugal, near Aveiro. Had an amazing time. I strongly recommend the boat and the staff was wonderful, made us feel really welcomed. The room view is a bonus.
Fabulous hotel in a great location, a few minutes walk along the canal from the old centre of Aveiro. Super clean and very comfortable room. Helpful staff, plenty of street parking outside the hotel.
The hotel is small but has everything we need. The breakfast is great, the staff is very kind, the location is amazing. The rooms are small but very clean.
It is a great option in Aveiro.
It’s smack in the middle of Aveiro‘s historic center, thus handy for just about anywhere in town, it’s clean, bright and beautiful, and was all around a pleasure to stay at.
The best bedding in all of Portugal! Fabulous accommodation and rooftop terrace. Small but stunning breakfast room on the roof level. Excellent location right on the canal.
The location gives you the opportunity to explore both day & night life in Aveiro; plus, there’s a lot of restaurants nearby and the city center is just a short walk away.
The apartment has a lot of space and it’s in the city center. Walking distance to pretty much everywhere in Aveiro. They allow pets which for me is an important thing.
the rooms very good , breakfast was good , the couple who manage the property are really nice and helpful . a very good place to stay in the center of aveiro .
