We loved the welcome and helpful staff. The room we had and views were excellent. we were able to extend our stay to go on a riverboat and steam train as well as visit Pocinho. The wine bar opposite the Museum was excellent and the Museum well worth a visit.

The Douro Valley is beautiful. Our stay was too short.
The Douro Valley is beautiful. Our stay was too short. The big thing I would encourage travelers to do is to make reservations and tour plans prior to visit. Wineries are often booked for bigger tours and not accepting drop ins.

We loved our stay. The family and staff are amazing!
We loved our stay. The family and staff are amazing! I can't emphasize how welcome we felt. The dinner was delicious and the port/wine parings lovely. They also arranged taxis for us on two occasions. Would love to come back.

Very friendly welcome but took a few minutes to gain access to the property. It was a 25 minute walk to the station but taxis readily available and affordable. Close to supermarkets.
Tio Manel restaurant in Regua was excellent - in terms of food quality, service and pricing.
Boat trips from Quayside to Pinhao and from there to a selection of Quintas. The Croft tour and tasting was very good - informative and good value for money.

A change of plans brought us to Porto - and a spontaneous trip to Douro Valley and we picked Quina Estrada from the net. We made an expert choice! What a delightful, warm, beautiful and comfortable place. So rich in history, family and culture. The people are helpful and genrous with their time and information.

It was the height of the tourist season (middle of August) and there was also a public holiday. The town was very busy and put quite a strain on restaurants and bars. Previous visits have been off season and the town copes a lot better, providing a more relaxed experience.
We stayed for one night during a road trip from Porto up the river Douro.
This hotel is quite amazing, very clean with super attentive staff.
Our room overlooked the river and the views were outstanding. We were delighted that a huge thunderstorm came over during the evening with a lightning show of monumental proportions. Now no one can guarantee this but it was epic and wonderful to witness.
Overall this hotel really delivered for us with a fab room and great food.
Well worth booking we believe.
We loved everything about this apartment. The layout was great, it was immaculately clean and it was impeccably decorated. The terrace was really nice with a beautiful view over the river. The location was really good and we were able to find close free parking every day we were there. It was so nice to come back to this cosy space at the end of the day. Maria is a wonderful hostess, very helpful and attentive. We would stay here again for sure.
Beautifully maintained property with lovely spacious well-equipped rooms. The large terrace at the back a part of the river and the mountains was beautiful as was the large dining and sitting area. The full Breakfast was lovely with fresh fruit from the hosts farm. The hosts themselves were very gracious and obliging and allowed us not only to check out late but also to use the terrace and dining area as our bus out of Regua was not until 2 pm.
Amazing views from a huge terrace onto Rio Douro - that alone is worth the stay.
The kitchen was stocked with coffee and some food for the first breakfast, and the host even left some fresh bread and pastry for that first morning.
There was also some wine available to buy and drink at the property, which was really a life saver : )
All in all, I can only recommend this if you are coming to Douro with a group of friends.
The staff is amazing and the hotel is clean and comfortable. You will not find a more hardworking team of people seeking to make your stay there wonderful. The hotel is a short walk from the train station and centrally located to restaurants and shopping. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the Douro valley area.
We enjoyed the quiet and beautiful location, the hotel and grounds were very relaxing. The staff we are very helpful and full of suggestions for eating and places to visit. The recommended guide ( Paulo) was well worth the day with, we are now experts in the Douro. We would be happy to stay again and would recommend the place.
The Quinta do Valdelágea was lovely. It had my essential requirements: a good shower with plenty of hot water and comfy beds. The breakfast was delicious and especially nice the last day when we could eat outside. Anabel was most helpful. This was probably our favorite place in our entire Portugal stay.
The centuries old facility was once a monastery. It is now a family owned winery, vineyard, agrohotel that produces some of the best port and wine in Portugal. The dinner they served was fabulous, the dogs were welcoming and the staff was fantastic!!!
At first it seemed like a cold business hotel, but Patrice at reception really went out of her way for me. She booked a winery tour and tasting for me at my next stop.
As I was only staying one night, it was good to be near the train station.
The apartment is very nice, large and well-equipped. It's in the centre of Regua that is a perfect place to start your trips from in the area. We've had the best sleep here, maybe it was the bike trip we were doing, but the bed was great
Breakfast was excellent, better than any other we experienced on a 2 week travel through mainland Portugal. The view from this small bed and breakfast is amazing. The hostess works very hard to please and really takes care of guests.
The apartment is beautiful and very comfortable. The view is stunning. The wooden floor in the whole apartment is something uncommon in Portugal and gives the place a lux-cosy touch. The check in was flawless.
Super clean and spacious flat. Very well equipped and in a great location. The host was super friendly and left us a bottle of white wine as welcome gift. Recommended to anyone passing by the Douro valley
Casa de sao Domingos is a beautiful hotel with Douro valley views, the room was spacious and the staff are extremely helpful. I would recommend the use of a taxi to travel from the station to the hotel.
Our week stay at Quinta da Estrada was the best. Amazing views, great service from Luis and Helga, delicious meals, space, comfort, greatly located halfway between Vila Real and Regua.
Beautiful setting, close to town (Regua) and with magnificent views of the Douro. Delicious breakfast in the morning with lots of variety and all tasted amazingly fresh!
