"Castelinho" is a homestay PVT apartment of 62m2 (667ft2) on the ground floor in Carrascal, Sintra with a PVT HEATED POOL (seasonal) for NON-SMOKERS that is ideal for a couple/single person with one or two children under 13 years (max. 4 guests) OR 3 adults (4 adults OR 3 adults and 1 child are not allowed). The apt has 2 PVT entrances and consists of a bedroom of 17m2 (with queen-size bed, electric blanket, wardrobe) that offers a view of the pool area and distant hills of the Sintra range, including the Palace of Monserrate; a PVT bathroom with shower, toilet, bidét; a small hall area; and a large PVT lounge of 30m2 for the exclusive use of guests that contains a sofa bed with mattresses and electric blanket for a couple (the bed can be made into two separate single beds with mattresses), wifi, cable tv (100 channels+Netflix), dining room table, study desk, wardrobe, large refrigerator, electric heater, fan, microwave oven, coffee machine (+free capsules), electric kettle, toaster, and filtered water dispenser. A hairdryer, iron, and ironing board are also provided for the use of guests. NOTE: No smoking; no parties; no excessive noise after 11 p.m. The use of a car is advisable.
Hello! My name is Najla (pronounced with a 'j' in Portuguese). I am Brazilian and have lived in Portugal since 2018. Hosting guests is a way for me to interact not only with people who live in Portugal but also others who visit this lovely country from around the world. As a host my focus is to make my guests feel welcome and to assist them when requested. I can communicate with guests in Portuguese, English, and Spanish and am available to offer advice regarding the numerous tourist attractions and amenities in the area. I provide a small welcome basket for guests upon arrival. There is no indoor kitchen, but in the outdoor area there is a barbecue (charcoal not provided), double induction vitroceramic cooking hotplate, small oven, small refrigerator, sink, pots, pans, cooking utensils, and food storage containers. There is a large refrigerator, microwave, coffee machine (with capsules), electric kettle, toaster, and filtered water dispenser in the private lounge. NOTE: Sintra levies a tourist accommodation charge for each guest, but as a courtesy I pay this tax for guests to the local authority. "Castelinho Carrascal Sintra" is situated in the small village of Carrascal (Várzea de Sintra), which is accessible by car or bus from the town of Sintra, which itself is easily accessible to Lisbon by train or car. There are also buses that go to and from the nearby beaches. Uber is also available in the area. There are restaurants, cafés, a small supermarket, a bakery, and pharmacy all within between one and two kilometres. The accommodation is 4,5 km by car or bus from the town of Sintra, which is classified as a World Heritage site by UNESCO, and is within driving distance to various beaches, including Praia da Adraga, Azenhas do Mar, Praia das Maçãs, Praia Grande, e Cabo da Roca. The accommodation is as few as thirty-five minutes from Lisbon airport by car. The use of a car is advisable, but Uber is available in the area for those without a car. For those who like to use public transportation, there is a bus stop a few hundred meters (three minutes' walk) from the home that can be used to catch a bus to Sintra and the beaches. The buses pass by the bus stop during the day once or twice per hour on their routes, but it is necessary to flag the drivers down so they stop.
