We are Mikel and Cynthia van der Sommen and since May 2017 we may casa rural Chapinheira call our home and we live in the apartment below the holiday apartment. Since our teenage years, we have always had the dream to leave the Netherlands and to build a life in another country. We not only Portugal opted for the wonderful climate, but also for its beautiful scenery, tranquility, space and the blessed food. The warmth and hospitality of the Portuguese people always amazes us again. Natural landscapes on a few steps away. There are several Praia fluvials (river beaches) a short distance away where you can relax and take a refreshing dip in the water from the mountains. Several beautiful cities like Coimbra are only a 30-minutes drive. A visit to the mountains of Lousã, with xisto villages and the castle with a praia fluvial is totally worth the trip and is only 20km away. Delicious food and beautiful authentic towns and villages.
