The city is very clean and tidy, with lots of very nice places to eat.
The castle is very well preserved, with a Military museum in one of the towers.
One of the reasons we drove to Bragança was to see the Graça Morais art exhibition - she is one of Portugal's best contemporary artists, and she lives and works in Bragança - it was very good!
Just north of the city, the Montesinho National Park has plenty of wilderness for trekking, biking and road trips.

Bragança is a cozy little historic town, the main feature being the castle on the hill. Recommend walking along the river to get there. A little bit of a climb to get to the castle but not too bad. Walk the castle walls and then wander the interior. Come back through the charming center of town. Plenty of good little restaurants and cafes along the way.

The beautiful ancient town of Braganca is a good choice for a short stay while being in Porto. The atmosphere of a place far from the beaten track makes it all worthwile. It offers a picturesque old town, numerous museums that one might visit for free, a park where one can stroll along the river and enjoy the views. Plus, there is a castle (Castelo de Bragança), which is a must-see on the list. Being there do not forget to drop in a Tourist Info where you'll find a superkind staff who will help you plan you trip in and around the place. It is also the gateway to the Park Natural de Montesinho. Enjoy!

To stroll around the castle during a late evening is great.
To stroll around the castle during a late evening is great. Perhaps there are some outdoor activities. I liked the town so much, because it's pleasent to walk around - more pleasant than in other towns, but can't define exactly why so.

Braganca is a very welcoming city, the food is amazing.
Braganca is a very welcoming city, the food is amazing. Variety of traditional and more groumet restaurants. The best pastry coffee shops!
A wide range of delicious cakes.
Great water to drink and to wash, your skin and hair will feel soft.
It's very safe!
An amazingly charming inn located about 15 minutes outside of Bragança. It is in a very quiet village and that is exactly what we were looking for, a place to enjoy a restful weekend but close enough to the town. There was coffee and tea available all day, the room was comfortable, the interior of the house (a remodeled stone house) is incredibly charming and beautiful. And there is EV charger which was a big bonus for us!
Really cosy hotel in the city center and only 10 minutes away walking distance from the Bus terminal. We only stayed one night but it was very nice, the room is small but we used it only for sleeping anyway and it is quite confortable and we weren't even aware of the cold that was outside. Quite a nice breakfast, extra points for having Nutella available!! The restaurant is also very good, all of the food was excellent.
The hotel is located within easy walking distance of the town centre.
It has its own car park right at the front of the hotel.
The room was spacious, well equipped and with great views of the town, castle and countryside beyond.
The hotel is a wonderful place to stay with seating areas located at various places inside and out.
The breakfast was superb with a fantastic range of hot and cold food and beverages.
The hosts are exceptionally friendly, the house has all modern comforts. Typical mountain village, and house. Nice roads and Braganca is close enough with the car to get groceries from the supermarket. Very quiet, and the few people in the village are very open and friendly. The owner even spoke our language which was amazing.
It'll be a place we will visit again when in the neighbourhood.
The hotel is located near the historical center of the city and shopping facilities, as well as the bus station. The staff is very friendly and try to accommodate your needs despite the language barrier. Breakfast was fine. You won't have an omelet, but you will be treated with seasonal fruit and freshly baked bread. Overall, very friendly service and value for money
Casa do Javali was the perfect little hidden gem of Braganca, with all the charm of 500 years ago and all the conveniences of today, a beautiful one bedroom apartment to enjoy all the comforts of home and you step outside to 500 years ago and an amazing view of the castle. We ate most of our meals at Taberna do Javali do miss the amazing food and staff.
Excellent!! One of the best places where I stayed in Portugal!
And this is not also about the hostel-house, is related too with the host-owner, who has a warm and kind energy. He is the soul of the place :)
If you visit Bragança, must stay here!
Right in the center of Bragança. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Good value for money. If I'm ever in the region again, I'll be definitely staying there. Breakfast was good as well with vegan options.
Beautiful room. Hotel was very clean. Staff were lovely. Breakfast was great, and what I assumed traditional. Excellent location for Castle, and restaurants in the castle grounds. Parked my motorbike close by.
We chose this hotel because it is so close to the AIMA office. We are so happy we stayed there! We loved the decor, the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff, and how they made us feel at home.
The staff is amazing people. My husband is vegan and they made a special breakfast just for him. The Brazilian guy in the reception love to inform you about things to see in beautiful Bragança.
What I found more interesting is to be in the "deep country" and face a very high-tech hotel created by 2 entrepreneurs coming from the "old generation". Facilities 97% perfect
Wonderful hotel with very friendly and helpful staff, and a yummy breakfast! Located in the <3 of Bragança, an unspoiled gem of a destination. Recommend with warmths! xoxo
