Aljezur is a great location to visit if you like nature, surfing, good food, a slower pace of life. I would recommend staying in Aljezur, getting a car to drive around to different beaches and villages where you can find good restaurants. In the evening, in Aljezur, always book ahead a table.

A magical small village with tiny streets and houses, nice restaurants The river is full of life, edpecially dozens of turtles sun bathing. the beaches are close and the castle above the city gives a nice overview although it is just a ruin.
nice massage at “em boas maos“ at the other side of the river in the new part of town.
there is also a nice walkway east of the castle directly below with benches to rest and look over the whole village and countryside.

We hope to return.
We hope to return. The presence of an active cultural life was important for us. We felt like we were in a town and region alive and not just a tourist setting.
By the way, asking these questions in English also, would be helpful.

What I liked is that it is truly a get away from the busier touristy parts of Portugal. What I didn't like is that google maps has its location for a national park located in the middle of a farm that has sand on the surrounding roads that are easy to get stuck in.

Aljezur is an incredible destination for those who love beaches, surf, museums and other fun stuff.
There are great attractions like Arrifana Beach and Odeceixe Beach in Aljezur, a region also known for its amazing natural landscapes.

If you want to explore the west coast of Portugal Aljezur is a good choice for a stop over. We travelled from the south and beaches we visited on our way were spectacular. Going North this morning it was equally as good.
We liked:
• The spaciousness of the place.
• The decor and style in main hotel building.
• Friendly attitudes of most staff
• They ordered us flowers 💐 when we asked.
• Surrounding nature is beautiful and perfect if you want away from civilization.
• Sauna high quality
• Lovely breakfasts
• Great fireplace in the bar 🍸 👏
• Really nice little boutique clothes shop.
• The Nepalese house keeping team are ace.
• Front of house staff are always ready to help.
Great stay at Villa Sound of the Sea with family. Fantastic luxury accommodation with lots of nice extras such as on site gym and hot tub. Very private space suitable for the whole family (we were 4x adults and 2x kids). Everyone had a great time.
Matt was available whenever needed and very attentive. We arrived late after a long flight and were greeted with essentials - bread, milk, juice etc…even a kinder egg for both kids and beer & wine for the adults!
The location is within walking distance from magnificent Arrifana beach. The hostess Valeria is very kind and supportive. The house (we stayed in Case Grande) is clean, well furbished and cool even in hottest days. The location is very quiet and reachable just by car.
Several circular and linear trails of Fisherman's Trail (Rota Vincentina) are easily reachable from the place.
Perfect location for quite rest, when you don't want a lot of people around.
This is one of the best places we have stayed in Portugal while doing the Rota Vicentina. We got a private room with bathroom for an incredible price!!! We are actually going to stay 2 more nights. Need a break/rest days from trail. Free laundry. Super affordable. Highly recommend. We are 2 friends in 40s and 50s. Free coffee and tea. Excellent rooftop terrace. Great shower. Excellent location. Great hangout space.
A 10/10 or 5-stars doesn’t begin to describe the amazing experience, the beautiful land, the comfortable tents and most of all the amazing and beautiful people. Booking.com should invent a higher rating, just for this place.
The yoga in the morning was amazing, breakfast was lovely, …
The beach at Arifana nearby is perfect for beginner surfers.
We had the best time!!
Everything was just perfect. Very nicely, tasteful accomodated room with beautiful bathroom. The hosts are very friendly and the breakfast is lovingly prepared from Marta. The surroundings (garden, pool) are green and beautiful as well (carefully taken care of from the hosts).
Next time we come to Portugal we would be very happy to stay at HQN again, thank you:)
Friendly and supportive staff, also very clean hotel. Its 5-6 min drive to the main beaches i.e. Arrifana Beach. 2 min drive to the supermarket and next to the market you have Aljezur Surf Spot store and teaching lessons which was practical for me to pick up my suit for my lessons.
We were 2-4 adults with two babies. Really liked the location near the beach as well as the space the house provided. The host was very friendly and provided us with what we needed. Very happy to have booked this place and would love to come back soon again.
An excellent view and a peaceful place, less than 5 minutes by car from the beach.
The staff was always eager to help us, very nice people with that great hospitality mindset we aim to see around these parts of Portugal.
Perfect venue for weekend getaways.
Nice local guesthouse Convenient to Rota Vicentina, excellent restaurants, supermarket Restaurant in guesthouse not open but great options near by Easy walk to old town Enjoyed sitting on patio w view of the castle
Wonderful, modern hotel in excellent location in charming town. Close to restaurants and shops. Great breakfast in dining room. Room was spacious and spotlessly clean. Very comfortable beds.
AMAZING! One of the best Hostels you can find in the area, or even in Portugal. Staff is incredibly helpful and nice. Location, view, cleanliness. It’s perfect.
I did not like this place. It was the worst accommodation we have experienced so far in Portugal, and the price was not cheap. The shower was good and warm.
