I feel a very lucky and privileged person to have friends from many different countries and to be able to maintain those friendshios alive for so many years.

Property info

The flats are located in in a historical building that is more than two hundred years old. Until one decade ago the building was owned by a old Lisbon-based firm that (Bronzes of Art Raul Martins) that created fantastic works of arts. It crafted using old-world skill adopting the art of melting, sculpting and chiseling to produce all kinds of wonderful metallic parts: lamps, faucets and door knobs, utilising bronze, brass, and many other different metals. It had clients all over the world and it´s work can be seen in many places all over the city of Lisbon. In Portugal you can appreciate its work in the gates of the Bank of Portugal, near Rossio square, in all the ornamental metallic parts of “Marques de Pombal Roundabout” (the most important roundabout in the city of Lisbon) or the fine chandeliers of the Presidential Palace in Belém. Overseas it had important clients like the Rockefeller Foundation and Sherle Wagner International. The remodeling and renovation of the building allowed to create these nice and cozy flats with all the amenities for a pleasant stay.

Neighborhood info

The apartment is located in a typical neighbourhood of the Centre of Lisbon. You will be able to enjoy the characteristical atmosphere of an historical neighbourhood that is everyday being modernized and gaining a rejuvenated vitality. The location is excellent, in a calm street but very close from the agitated vibrant life of Bairro Alto, Chiado, Bica, Cais do Sodré, the Tagus riverside and other super turistical attractions. There are several restaurants, cafes and markets, some old, others renewd, that create a very interesting mix between the traditional concept and the modern concept of a great european capital. Just 20 meters down the street there is a stop for tram 28, the most famous of Lisbon, which goes up and down the city hills, from Estrela to Martim Moniz, passing by São Bento (the parliament), Chiado, Sé (the mother church), São Jorge Castle and Graça. Besides all that there is to see and do during the day, the night life is also a "must" in this area of the city. 500 metres away you will find Bairro Alto, where there is a great diversity of bars and discos for all tastes.
