The room with the stunning panoramic view was clean and comfortable. The food downstairs was very good and reasonably priced. Parking was easy and accessible. The center of town was a good 25 minute walk so we drove and parked in the central underground parking lot. Easy. Nice shops and the Porto del Sol is a beautiful park with another stunning view.

Santarem is a small city north of Lisbon which is non touristy with a small but pleasant old town with a maze of narrow streets and old churches.
the city park the Portas de Sol is a wonderful place to relax in the shade.
It is within the old fortifications on a high ridge with stunning views of the Tejo river below.
The city has good traditional restaurants which are popular and cheap but close by 10pm.
City is a good base for surrounding region and has good transport links in all directions.Lisbon is less than an hour by train and Evora is ninety minutes by bus.

Santarém is called the portuguese capital of Gothic style in Portugal. Wonderful tyles in the market and the railway station. Excellent meat and fruits. May be one of the hottest places in Portugal in Summer, almost 40° C.
We stayed here during our portuguese camino. Staying at Tagushost was a mix of coming home to your parents place, hotel and hostel. The owner is literally the best guy. He is funny, so friendly and knowledgeable. He really addresses everyone individually and makes you feel instantly welcome, the fridge is accessible with drinks and food. Breakfast is available. The lounges are a great place to relax. Such a sweet place, it was like coming home. We really really loved our stay. Great experience. :):)
The house is near the trainstation, so you get everywhere from there, so even if your desired destination isn't Santarem, you should still consider it :) the house is just amazing! Fully equipped to prepare food, and the interior looks great, fits the feeling of the region. Morning view on the river above which sun lights your room is amazing. I hope I could come here again :)
I did not realize how remote and isolated the location was when I booked it. There is no where to go. It's not a good choice for someone without a car. I booked it only because there was no where else available in Santarem. I arrived hungry, without dinner and there is nothing around. The owners are extremely nice. They ordered a pizza for me. Nothing is in walking distance.
This is an ultra modern hotel which far surpassed my expectations. Check-in was very friendly and i was actually taken up to my room. Brilliant shower in spacious bathroom. Loved the kitchen area with seating, big fridge and microwave plus kettle available on one floor if you needed it
Even tho i didnt know of Santarém, it still had many nice places to go to in the neighbourhood. The bakery in the streets of the little shops had the best Pastel de Nata. We went to a lot of other places/cities in Portugal but theirs was really the best.
It was probably one of the nicest hotels that we have stayed at. Perfect for our needs especially travelling with two dogs. The facilities were excellent as were the staff. Breakfast was also excellent. Definitely on our list to visit again.
Ana was very helpful. She was very accommodating and even offered to do our laundry. She gave us a map of Santarém and pointed out the highlights and restaurants. The location close to downtown and the train was great. We were very pleased.
Great location, good room with ample space for a person or couple. And fantastic value! Would stay there again if I was in Santarem, and happily recommend it to a friend or family member.
The hotel was very clean, staff was helpful and breakfast was plenty of things to choose. It's not far from the center, but there is a walk on a steep road. Our room was also big.
Wonderful and modern apartment, perfect for a stay in Santarém. We felt so welcomed and extended our stay by a night as we enjoyed ourselves so much. Couldn't ask for more.
