Boca Chica is beautiful. The mountains and the beaches are breath taking. Undeveloped and undiscovered, go now, before it changes. Not a lot of services in Boca Chica itself but several upscale hotels with all the amenities. A car is useful, but necessary, as the resorts are all-inclusive. The road from Santiago to Boca Chica is an excellent 100kph highway and, bonus, the road right down to Boca Chica shore is now paved. It is 19km, but beautifully paved now.

Beautiful views from all bungalows and the restaurant!
Beautiful views from all bungalows and the restaurant! The staff members were very attentive and the food at the restaurant was very good! There are a lot of stairs so pack light and if you can’t, no worries-they will take care of you! We will definitely go back !

Boca Chica is yet an untapped tourist destination in Panama.
Boca Chica is yet an untapped tourist destination in Panama. It is the perfect launching point to explore incredibly beautiful islands and to find some peace and quiet on the pacific. Definitely take a boat tour to the surrounding islands if you stay on the mainland, and hop on a kayak if you are so inclined!

I am glad I had a car, so I could explore the area. I didn't care for the 3 island tour because there were too many people and loud music. Not a relaxing day on remote islands that I was hoping for. The fishermen tourists were obnoxious, but respectful. The locals and expats were wonderful! Loved the lobster and seafood. It was fun exploring other properties such as the Tiki bar and getting caught in short downpours while undercover!

Amazing nature, a lovely quiet place to use as a base to visit the islands in the Gulf of Chiriqui. The village is small and quiet (especially in off-season when we went). In whaling season, you can also see whales in the Gulf. There are a couple of restaurants around - my favorite was a local woman who runs the restaurant out of her house, cooking good sea-food for very good prices.

You have to use the boat to get to the real beach, but the beaches on nearby islands are amazing. They are within 10-40 minutes by boat ride. Just ask in Boca Chica and locals will take you there or go directly from the hotel but that will cost you more.
It was truly a wonderful stay. The island is the best place on earth to recharge and disconnect, everything is beautiful (the nature itself but the design of the hotel as well!) and I have never seen such a caring and professional staff. The food is incredible too (fresh, high quality and creative - we are French and Italien so have a bit of high standards in this respect) and they are always happy to make adjustments to comply with your dietary restrictions. Thanks again to the team who made our stay an amazing experience.
We enjoyed very much our stay in El Regalo. The room was nicely furnished and was veery spacious with beautiful view. Hotel is pet friendly. The staff was very friendly and helpful they set up for us amazing whole day trips, we didn’t have to care about anything. They also prepared for us early breakfast before the trip and snacks. They also have amazing cocktails that we were enjoying every evening! It’s calm hotel in the middle of nowhere, which we loved. We would definetely come back!
The hotel area and landscapes, beaches are just spectacular. Nature is everywhere around. There is a water taxis available from the hotel and car access ok too.
Employee work is very well organized, rapid and precise (not always the case in Central America), attitude of waiters very kind and interested. Spaces were cleaned and well planned.
The restaurant had a local and varied menu. Cook had experience and dishes fresh, delicious. We appreciated the reasonable prices.
Literally everything was awesome - the tranquility of the place, the solitude of the little beach on property…it felt like home - cozy, relaxing and with the best attitude from the personnel.
The guys set us up with the fishing trip (amazing) and then were so nice to cook the dinner for us with our catch of the day.
Highly recommended to everyone who wants to find out what the gem Boca Chica is!
The staff and food was excellent! Location is in a quiet beautiful community in Boca Chica. Very beautiful and such a serene location! Rooms were very comfy and clean - bed was very comfortable. Loved the pool area and game room and games in there! Beach is a short walk from the house. The hammocks were also really nice to sit, swing and relax in. We will definitely be back!
The property is well located, nice facilities with all you need for your stay. Very quiet, in the nature with great view and 10 minutes to the harbour of Boca Chica for boat tours and beaches.
Umberto is a great host, whatever you need he’s there but you have full privacy and you can enjoy your time in the house. You can use the pool in the villa as well.
everything here is beautiful. This is the perfect place to relax and get away.If you want adventure there is every activity imaginable to do from fishing, horseback riding, white water rafting, indigenous village visits, sunset cruises, and beautiful beaches to explore. You could stay here a month and not get bored.
An amazing property with beautiful grounds and infinity pool. The rooms were all uniquely decorated and the details were very well done. Owner Brad was very friendly and helpful. He served us a full breakfast each day! This was off season so very quiet. We hired a boat to take us to a nearby island. Beautiful stay!
The location is amazing! Frank and Jessica are great hosts who run a nice spot. The nearby beaches are stunning and great for swimming. The dining area has many levels of decks where you can watch the ocean and monkeys! It is not a fancy establishment by any means but has the basics and is in a beautiful spot!
This house is beautifully set on top of the hill with beach access. Raphael and Eda were very friendly and attentive to our needs. Raphael offered us his tuna fish from his fishing trip for us to barbecue. Their place is immaculate and a dream gateway. Raphael’s restaurant recommendations were also excellent.
Beautiful setting , lodge had large area for dining sitting beautiful views. Pool refreshing, great views. Brad was an amazing host as well as the rest of the family. Would definitely recommend Gone Fishing to anyone traveling out this way well worth the time it takes to get here.
The breakfast was good and adequate. Hotel staff was helpful and for $10 did our weeks worth of laundry. Didn't use the pool but he deck area is where breakfast is served and is very clean. You can look off into the jungle/forest while you eat or lounge around the pool.
This hotel exceeded ALL our expectations! It had a spectacular view. It was super clean and welcoming. The included breakfast was first-rate and the hosts were super friendly, helpful and worked hard in making our stay memorable. We highly recommend this property!!
Amazing location with great views. Very private, quiet and calm environment. The house is very spacious inside and has a large terrace too.
The hosts are very helpful and friendly. I will definitely rent this house again on my next trip to Boca Chica!
We really liked the view to the open sea, the hotel was very nice (with an interesting history), the staff (which was a lovely family) was very amicable and helpful and there was also farm animals and horses, so personally, I adored this part.
It’s a remote location, but the views are amazing ! The balcony and the pool are offer a little more than 180 degrees view of pure nature . The garden is meticulously manicure. There are lots of tours for snorkeling and deep sea fishing.
The views are beautiful and the people (both guests and owners) are friendly! The owners were always available to help answer questions and give us recommendations for restaurants and things to do in the area. Very comfortable stay.
