Great area, near beach and a nice little holiday park with good amenities. Swimming pool close to kitchen, BBQ and covered area with tables, fab for families. Our small accommodation looked like a playhouse from the outside with a veranda to sit on, but provided tv, shower, toilet, kitchenette and double bed. Fine for the 1 night we stayed.

Our church group members went to Whanganui, some stayed at Coachmans Lodge Motel and some stayed at Burwood Motel. We did not really going around Whanganui as we were there for an event for our church and we had our lunch and dinner at the church hall.
We find it very easy to get around Whanganui and we will visit other places next time we go there.
We really enjoyed our trip.

Whanganui is one of the most pleasing towns in New Zealand: visually and culturally.
The Quartz ceramics museum is the real jewel in the crown of the town. Rick Rudd the creator has produced a world-class showcase collection of the best in this, the oldest of human art forms.

Whanganui is a bit of a hidden gem! Excellent dining spots and cafe's. If you are an art lover then it is the place for you. Lots of Galleries and local art collectives to meander through. The river walk is a great stroll and older buildings to admire.

Easy access to the main shopping area.
Easy access to the main shopping area. It was a public holiday so few places were open. So didn’t experience all what was on offer. Also there is 15% surcharge on top of what you buy when using your credit card ! Pay by cash ! Lovely walk along the river. I-site is an information centre which is really helpful. Travel up on the oldest elevator on Druie Hill amazing views

Whanganui is not a place we have spent any time at.
Whanganui is not a place we have spent any time at. As one of NZ’s few riverside cities, we enjoyed the differences that such locations offer. Whanganui has a rich history both Maori and Pakeha which we enjoyed learning sbout
A great place, very peaceful. The grounds are beautiful. The unit is immaculately kept, very comfortable, and the hospitality was great. Home baked goodies, freshly squeezed orange juice from the orchard, and very generous hosts. Plus, a really gorgeous part of the country which is truly worth visiting!
Although this site says there's no Wifi, in actual fact, there is. It can be a bit intermittent at times, but it's a small price to pay for the beauty of this location on the Whanganui River.
We have stayed there several times before because it is quite easy to get into the main street and complete the tasks we were down in Whanganui for. The room was well set up and large. lots of room for bags etc and an excellent spa bath was provided in the room. Bed was very comfortable as was the parking. The heat pump kept the room warm, and the television offered a very full range of channels.
The bed was lovely and clean and comfy. The staircase as you enter is stunning. It's a lovely space, just wish it was done up a little. I got what I paid for though, it was cheap especially for a last minute hotel. A weird thing I liked was being able to control the lighting from bed with light switches connected to the bedside table.
Beautiful location next to the Whanganui River on the very edge of the city. Great to be up among the birds and watch the canoeists go by. Fantastic conversion of the former signal box into accommodation and very nicely done. Well appointed, loved the bedding and ingenious the way everything needed has been fitted into the space.
Room was beautiful and clean. The manager was very understanding and helpful whilst making my booking. The spa bath looked amazing, unfortunately we were not there long enough to try it! The young man at reception with his Nana was SUPER cute and extremely friendly! I would definitely recommend this place to everyone!
The accommodation was very comfortable, spacious, and has an excellent bathroom and good aircon.
The breakfast met our needs. Our host referenced the gate in the fence that led to Lake Virginia Park. We walked in the Park. It was delightful.
We would be happy to stay there again.
This is a low cost hotel but the wifi worked well , the beds were comfortable and the showers functioned well.
We selected this Motel for proximity to our destination and it worked well for us.
Not a place for long term stay-due to minimal in room cooking and cleaning facilities
Very well located in the centre of Whanganui. A very pleasant room, with lots of space. Bathroom was fine. Restaurant (dinner) very good value for cost and food excellent. Breakfast was adequate. Overall good value for the cost and great to see an old hotel rejuvenated
Lovely host.
Comfortable, clean, and spacious room.
Ideal location as the property has access to a lake, which was a lovely walk.
We have no hesitation in recommending this as a place to stay, and we will definitely book again if we visit Whanganui.
Beautiful location by the river, the whole motel faces toward the view & gets morning sun.
Very cool heritage/early 80s styling (we like that kind of thing) and all very well maintained & clean.
Spacious room with very well appointed kitchenette.
Nothing. This so called hotel should not be on your books, it does immeasurable damage to the reputation of Booking .com. It has made me question weather Booking .com can be trusted to provide worth while, clean, comfortable accommodation,
Lovely elevated garden setting on the East side of Whanganui with a veranda to enjoy the evening sun. A very handsome interior with spacious bedroom and living room and well-appointed period bathroom (shower above bath).
Immaculate and large apartment right in the Centre of Whanganui. Car parked outside the door. Very quiet with lovely owners. 5 minute walk to the main street and excellent craft beer and food in the Rutland Arms
A solid motel choice in Whanganui. Very clean, decent beds, good space, good location on Victoria Ave with New World (and fast food joints should you want them) within a block or two.
Fabulous B & B - very comfortable, yummy breakfasts, stunning vistas, friendly and interesting hosts and smoochy pets. I will return when next in Whanganui.
Double bed was comfy, the whole place was spacious and better kept than the photos suggested as it looked a bit tired on them, so was pleasantly surprised.
