Great area, near beach and a nice little holiday park with good amenities. Swimming pool close to kitchen, BBQ and covered area with tables, fab for families. Our small accommodation looked like a playhouse from the outside with a veranda to sit on, but provided tv, shower, toilet, kitchenette and double bed. Fine for the 1 night we stayed.

Our church group members went to Whanganui, some stayed at Coachmans Lodge Motel and some stayed at Burwood Motel. We did not really going around Whanganui as we were there for an event for our church and we had our lunch and dinner at the church hall.
We find it very easy to get around Whanganui and we will visit other places next time we go there.
We really enjoyed our trip.

Whanganui is one of the most pleasing towns in New Zealand: visually and culturally.
The Quartz ceramics museum is the real jewel in the crown of the town. Rick Rudd the creator has produced a world-class showcase collection of the best in this, the oldest of human art forms.

Whanganui is a bit of a hidden gem! Excellent dining spots and cafe's. If you are an art lover then it is the place for you. Lots of Galleries and local art collectives to meander through. The river walk is a great stroll and older buildings to admire.

Easy access to the main shopping area.
Easy access to the main shopping area. It was a public holiday so few places were open. So didn’t experience all what was on offer. Also there is 15% surcharge on top of what you buy when using your credit card ! Pay by cash ! Lovely walk along the river. I-site is an information centre which is really helpful. Travel up on the oldest elevator on Druie Hill amazing views

Whanganui is not a place we have spent any time at.
Whanganui is not a place we have spent any time at. As one of NZ’s few riverside cities, we enjoyed the differences that such locations offer. Whanganui has a rich history both Maori and Pakeha which we enjoyed learning sbout
Our stay at Shuringi was simply delightful! Andrew and Penny were the perfect hosts, warmly welcoming us and providing us with an enjoyable and memorable experience. We had originally planned to explore Whanganui during our stay, but were so taken by the stunning views from the property and the delightful company of our hosts, that we ended up spending most of our time at the property. It was an experience that far exceeded our expectations!
Nice welcome with owner who provided milk and a chocolate each! The room was quite large with a kitchenette, living room that had a dining table four chairs, two single beds. There was a separate bedroom with a queen bed. Nice touch with mints and a welcome on the table. Parking right outside.
The motel is in a good location as easy to get in and out and drive to town easily.
Pet friendly made this a great choice for us.
No breakfast offered as it was winter low season. We were happy to self cater using the attached hostel common area.(which by the way had comfortable sitting area with television, as did the gracious formal lounge reserved for B&B guests.)A really nice , grand and gracious old property undergoing renovations. Warm, spacious bedroom with french doors out onto balcony.
The bed was lovely and clean and comfy. The staircase as you enter is stunning. It's a lovely space, just wish it was done up a little. I got what I paid for though, it was cheap especially for a last minute hotel. A weird thing I liked was being able to control the lighting from bed with light switches connected to the bedside table.
Wonderful location with large deck to peaceful view over lake towards the mountains. Only minutes from town but you're in the countryside! Clean, warm, spacious, apartment with comfy beds. Friendly, accommodating host leaving thoughtful touches like bottle of bubbly. Would definitely return here when staying in Whanganui.
Great location, easy to find. Easy to navigate your way out of Whanganui to continue your journey. Several takeaway places nearby and very close to a petrol station. Plenty of parking. Lovely grounds. Very comfy beds. Spacious bathroom. Just an all round very satisfactory place to stop at.
Cute house in a quiet little neighbourhood. Fully stocked kitchen including optional snacks and drinks sold a very reasonable prices. Preserved peaches are delicious. Hosts are very kind and accomodating. Plan to book here again when next in Whanganui.
Owners Graeme and Helen were fantastic. Friendly and they went out of their way for me. Location also great. Spacious rooms and very clean. Definitely value for money. I will return there next time I am in Whanganui.
Excellent dinner with great selection of craft beers and wines, room was very spacious with a proper sized small refrigerator, nicely decorated in the period style that is such a feature of the centre of Whanganui
Beautifully appointed and spotless. It's clear that a lot of thought has gone into its operation. Friendly welcome. Very convenient for the amenities in Whanganui but not troubled by road noise.
Allie was a wonderful host and made our stay in Whanganui very comfortable. Very comfortable beds. Good size room and in a great location. We'll have no hesitation staying there again.
