It was very cosy and well appointed. The gardens were beautiful and the cottage quaint. There was a lot of good information about Greytown supplied and the host replied very quickly to queries.

The Cottage is a 2-bedroom house built in the mid 19th century and features a full kitchen, separate bath/shower/toilet, and separate lounge and dining rooms. The studio offers basic tea/coffee making facilities, a fridge and a microwave You will find a range of award winning cafes, restaurants and antique shops nearby.

This early settlers cottage, built in the mid 19th century, is nestled in a delightful garden setting. The rooms are furnished in a style belonging to a bygone era, which complements the original totara paneling. The Cottage is kept warm by a wood burning fire and your worries can be soothed away in the deep claw footed bath. Lavender Cottage is self contained accommodation only a five minute walk to a range of award winning cafes, restaurants and antique shops in one of New Zealand's most extensive displays of Victorian architecture. The Lavender Room with one double and the Rose Room with two singles, feature antique brass and iron beds. Charming Rosebud Studio/ensuite, adjacent to Lavender Cottage with a king bed or two singles, accommodates two additional guests.
A semi-retired couple, Mary and I are managing this self-cater property for an overseas friend. We owner/managed a 4 room B&B nearby for many years and thoroughly enjoyed providing top-class service to guests from Japan to Switzerland and had many return visitors. Living only 10 minutes away in Featherston, we will be available to take care of any issues that arise if required, but will largely leave our guests to enjoy their stay at their own pace.
Greytown is the shopping hub of South Wairarapa. Good range of restaurant dining cuisines, cafes and pubs. Situated in the South Wairarapa Heartland, surrounded by rolling fields and hills complete with a range of bush walks and cycle tracks and beautiful riverside picnic spots.
