Utrecht on mukava paikka käydä siitä, että se ei ole liian iso kaupunki. Keskustan aluetta voi käydä tarkastelemassa kävellen ja kuitenkin sieltä löytyy melko monipuolisesti kiinnostavia asioita; kauppoja, ravintoloita, nähtävyyksiä. Sen lähellä, pienen junamatkan päässä on myös tutustumisen arvoinen Amersfoort, jossa on mukava viettää aikaa, vaikka yhden päivänreissun ajan ja kävellä rauhassa kävelykatuja. Kauppoja ja kahviloita riittää täälläkin.
