It's a very good location to enjoy sightseeing, water sports and relaxing. The only problem is poor planning of the local administration. There is only one or two public entry to the lake site. Road side property (houses/ hotels) have blocked the land from road to the lake site. There is no walking path along the lake side, except in a couple of places of very limited length.

Personally I think it is a little bit of a strange place.
Personally I think it is a little bit of a strange place. There are many so-called wanne-be Dutch celebrities, who are just not that. Many Porsches, Mercedesses etc. that they most likely use for shopping mostly. They eat pretend-to-be-luxury food at the Harbour Club, they show a bit off with their affluence in a cheap way, and I never seen so many Botox and Filler bill boards as there. The town made me almost feel like Hilversum aan Zee, Baarn aan Zee, Amstelveen aan Zee, Laren aan Zee, Jordaan aan Zee, except the sea is not the sea, but in fact a group of centuries old man-made "lakes" (small ones) from the time they used the top soil layers as peat; the yachts are not really yachts; it is all a bit by-gone glory. That said: it does have its own, different kind of charm, just because of this.

Peaceful and not overrun by tourists, lovely area with fascinating developments along lake roads. Friendly helpful people everywhere.
Good food at Mout in Hilversum, and nice centre for a little shopping.
Fascinating early modern architecture by Dudok.
Cycling around is really easy and bike hire easy.

This is an amazing area of the Netherlands if you love water and boats. The local architecture is pictureseque and there is a very freindly vibe. We ate in our hotel restaurant one night, and we were at a venue nearby for a family wedding which was wonderful. I would definitely return and do boat trips and bike rides there. There was even a small beach! Not many shops nearby but a few good looking restaurants.
Everything was amazing, the lodge was well cleaned with very nice smell of aromatic in the villa and it was fully accupied of all what you might need.
The garden was lake view and kids friendly my little one likes how she fed the ducks and chicken while we stayed there.
The staff very friendly and helpful.
AC was great and cools the villa in few minutes.
The location in a quite safe area and close to amsterdam.
Because of the high safety we left all our luggage in the villa and went to Disneyland for 2 days with no worries of any thief.
I stopped here after a long car ride, having to be at the airport early in the morning. The place is less than 30' far from AMS, just in front of a small marina, and the whole surroundings seem devoted to enjoy the lake. A very nice feeling compared to big chain hotels at the airport, and a fair price for the simple use I had to make of the room. The staff is very welcoming, it is a pity that due to my tight time constraints I could not enjoy meals too (not having an option for an early breakfast is maybe the only shortcoming).
Location is excellent with parking facility at reasonable rate (we paid only 10 euro for 4 nights). We didn't opt for the breakfast. Location is good with Albert Heijn departmental store within 500 meters. The toilet is very good in size. Our room was nicely cleaned with enough supply of toiletries and towels. The terrace offers good view. Very good parking facility. The onsite Asian restaurant A-Fusion Loosdrecht is good but very expensive due to poor quantity (will have a separate review).
It’s a wonderful location! We stayed in one of the little bungalows that we had to row out to, and my children loved it! The experience of rowing the boat out to the island and around the lake was a highlight of our trip for them. It was quiet and lovely, and one of our favorite places we have stayed. The surrounding area is equally lovely. Just a really beautiful place with friendly people. Close to Amsterdam and many fun activities. We would stay here again.
I simply needed a room with a bed that I could sleep in and a shower. I got that. Bed was good, breakfast was good, staff was exceptionally friendly. Inventively, they provide earplugs because of the noise from the street and the terrace. But these did not bother me, I didn't need the earplugs. By the way, the hotel is honest about the disadvantages, and does not pretend to be more than they are. No pretentions, and I like that.
Excellent location. Very friendly staff. Peace and quiet, even with the restaurant on the ground floor. Three minutes from the hotel there is an excellent shop. View of the lake.
