Giethoorn is the Venice of the Netherlands, it’s beautiful even though the weather was not brilliant during our stay but the place is amazing and I can imagine will be packed come Summer. We went during the Easter long weekend and still enjoyed the place.
Will definitely go back again ☺️

1. It's perfect to stay 1 or 2 nights and explore this place deeply.
2. Over 2 nights would be too much I think.
3. It's so nice to walk around not just in the center, of course with nice weather is important.
4. It's great to have 2hr boat ride with great weather, was so comfortable and the guide was so great.

Giethoorn is one of many places nicknamed Northern Venice and the resemblance with its canals is definitely there. But the nickname almost doesn't do the town its justice. It has a lot more natural scenery to offer and is much more peaceful. A great destination for someone who is for instance cycling through the country.

This a very nice and special area, it worth walking and taking a boat trip. We were there at the end of the summer in mid September, it was not too crowded. I think it is nice in the winter also, they said that the canals usually frozen and ice-skating is possible.

A great place to visit however the weather plays a key role on how much you will enjoy. Never visit this place if it raining.
Good time to spend 1 day around the water ways.
Great cycling track and prefer to rent a bycyle to visit nearby villages which are equally beautiful.

Our journey to the beautiful village "Giethoorn" was a pleasant one. The scenic beauty on the way was mesmerizing, and we could not wait to explore the village. As we arrived, we were welcomed by the warm and friendly locals and the Hostel we stayed in.
The village was indeed beautiful and had a serene environment that was perfect for a relaxing family atmosphere. The lush greenery and the calmness of the place were truly rejuvenating along with the long water tunnels. We wished we could stay longer and soak in the tranquility of the village.
The 1-bedroom apartment has two queen beds, full kitchen, can comfortably sleep four. Parking is free in the cafe lot. The location is great, right on the canal, in the middle of the houses. You should stay a night in Giethoorn because of the morning and evening peace and quiet after day trippers are gone. The canal turns into mirror and you get beautiful pics w perfect reflections. This is not possible during the day w tourist boats.
we’re family of 4 (myself, my wife and two kids) we got Chalet 18 which is a lake view.. amazing view of the lake.. the host was very nice and welcoming.. deposit is 150€ you get it back when checkout if you follow the Chalet rules which are reasonable.. location is right in the center of everything.. Parking available nearby.. kitchen is fully equipped. beds were ok.. the Chalet also offer boats for rent.
The location is great! Just 5mins walk from bus station and there is a car park.but if you want to go to the village you have to walk to the center about 1km. They have bike rental 10euro per day and boat rental start from 55euro per 2 hour and 135euro per day.the check in in very easy and dont need any key.
The breakfast is fabulous with variety of food. The room for one person is quite enough.
It's the best place to stay, wouldn't even bother next time looking for another place in giethoorn, and the family are absolutely the best, the breakfast was plentiful tons of foods and you can see that it was placed with love and care. There is a supermarket 10min walk from the place, but also plenty of restaurants, they also have boats to hire
The holiday home at a great location and well equipped to host 5-6 people. Robb and his family are super friendly, provided a lot of information about places to visit around Giethoorn and it was also very easy to rent a boat and drive off directly from the home.
Satisfactory breakfast, excellent location 15' walk to the center. Quiet accommodation with almost 10 parking spaces. Free parking nearby if the places in the hotel are occupied. Easy automatic check-in and check-out in multiple languages.
Everything was great: the staff, the welcome coffee and tea, the room with nice shower and bath, nice breakfast included and also the fact you can rent boats from them and go directly to the Giethoorn village and lakes for a cheaper price.
It was a great place in the middle of giethoorn village. View around the area is beautiful. It was well maintained chalet and the facilities were good. Every kitchen utensils were ther for us to make meals and stay comfortable.
This is a very small hotel, really more like a hostel. The rooms are confy but very small.
The restaurant is actually quite good and the only one open after 20:00.
Breakfast is quite basic and comparable to rest of Holland.
Very close to Giethoorn village and to the Weerribben-Wieden national park. Also in a very dog friendly neighbourhood.
They have bikes that are in good condition, very enjoyable to ride.
Overall we had a wonderful time.
We had an overnight stay, Giethoorn is a beautiful place to visit, in our time there we had walks and bike rides. Hotel was really nice, staff really nice and English speaking. Served great food.
It’s a self check in. The room is clean and modern. Also quite spacious. But we can’t put our luggages if the restaurant close. Because there’s almost no staff in the hotel. No receptionist.
